A short report of the two wedding receptions attended today.

WEDDING #1

The wedding of Mr. Aliff Asyraf bin Zainal Abidin [SMKTUN's alumni SPM batch 2011] and Norazira Azman.
VENUE: Taman Universiti's Sports and Recreation Complex

I managed to meet a few ex-students there who have grown into young, fine gentlemen.

WEDDING #2

The wedding of the daughter of Puan Hajah Norra Ab Wahab,
an ex-colleague of SMK Mutiara Rini.
VENUE: Asma ul Husna Mosque, Bandar Uda Utama

There were some ex-colleagues not only from SMK Mutiara Rini, but also from SMK Taman Universiti and another English teacher from SMK Aminuddin Baki.

Actually I attended three receptions, the other one was of a cousin's daughter. After three rounds of continuous eating, I am sure I am already fat by now.

SEARCHING FOR MANDALAY CENTRAL MOSQUE, AND FOUND

16th DECEMBER 2019 ~ We managed to find a mosque after our guide had dropped us at the bus station, and we successfully performed the four prayers of the day there. In Mandalay, you could always use your Grab apps to get people to ferry you around town.

Mandalay Central Mosque was just a small building located by the side of a busy street in the heart of the city, but the place was clean and well taken care of.

The mosque was full with people coming for the Maghrib prayer [the prayer after the sunset].

I did not take a lot of photos as I could feel people eyeing us. It must be quite obvious we were wearing our tourists' hats.

Another thing, there were a lot of halal eating places around this area too.

There was another mosque that we found, so do come back for the report soon.

I could not get everyone to be photographed for the category sections as everyone seemed to be all over the place and I must have got tired already. I could not even get the group photo of the teachers this time. 😔

Then it was the time everybody was waiting for: the prize-giving ceremony.

Johor Bahru team was crowned the overall champion for the Johor State Level Competition 2020.

Congratulations to everybody who had made it possible for the trophy to return home to Johor Bahru district again after many years.

Until we meet again next year.
