THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF TWO PAIRS OF BRIDES AND GROOMS AT ONE TIME

Puan Rahmah Abdullah, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, held a wedding reception for her two children, a son and a daughter, who are both the ex-students of the same school. The event was held at Princess House by Diva somewhere in Ulu Choh.

When there was a wedding reception, reunion session with old friends also took place.

There were also many ex-students present, but I didn't have the opportunity to take photos with them. There were just too many people and at the same time, I could not wait for too long.

PAIR #1:
Mr. Faiz Hanafi & Ms. Nurul Syazwani

PAIR #2:
Mr. Irfannuddin & Ms. Deena Akmaliah

Congratulations to both pairs of brides and grooms. May your live be blessed and filled with joy and love throughout. Congratulations also to the family on the arrival of two new members at one time - and the family will expand in no time.

THE 3D3N STAY AT SENTRAL HOTEL IN KUANTAN

I chose Sentral Hotel for my accommodation during my stay in Kuantan from 25th - 27th January, 2026. Before this, I had stayed at two other different hotels nearby.

I managed to get the view of the river from my room.

One hotel with reasonable rate for you to choose when in Kuantan. The location is strategic, near to the attractions around the Tower, and many nearby eating places too. Parking could be an issue if you are driving. I did not see any parking space for hotel guests except the ones by the roadside in front of the hotel.

THE [VERY] SHORT STAY IN ELMARK HOTEL IN KUANTAN

25TH JANUARY 2026   ~ I arrived at Kuantan Sentral at about 5:00 a.m. and the wedding reception would be in the afternoon. Therefore I needed a place to rest a bit. Luckily I found this hotel called Elmark Hotel that allowed short stay from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

I managed to lie down a bit and take a shower after that before checking out.

Looking at the embroidered writing on the hotel towel, I also have the same brand for my ceiling fans at home.

The hotel was decent enough at the rate given. There were things that could be improved. For example, I was not allowed to get into my room when I arrived at 7:30 a.m. even though the room was not occupied. The guy at the reception did not look friendly at all. If only he could smile a bit, it would have been much better.

THE IMPROMPTU GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE IN PERMAS JAYA

I met Mr. Mohd. Faiz this afternoon to get something done with my car. Unfortunately, the job had to be postponed to next Monday so we decided to get lunch instead.

The recommended eating place by Mr. Mohd Faiz was MBJB DKontena Permas Jaya. He wanted to introduce the Chicken Rice from Nasi Ayam & Nasi Ayam Penyet Noi stall at the food court.

The Chicken Rice was good. It is actually not easy nowadays to get good Chicken Rice from stalls or food courts. The rice must be fragrant and the soup should be thick. Now I know a new place to get lunch.

Mr. Mod. Faiz seem to be knowledgeable in finding good eating places around town. I will be seeing him again next week and there will be another gastronomic adventure going to happen.

THE SECOND MEETING OF THE REUNION GATHERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS

1st FEBRUARY 2026   ~ The second meeting for the upcoming Hi-Tea Reunion of SMK Taman Universiti was held at St. Giles Hotel, in Causeway Cafe to be exact. Six committee members who are the alumni of the school [of SPM 1999 batch] were present. The first meeting was held in November last year at Ramada Meridin Hotel [READ HERE].

This was actually my second time having lunch at St. Giles. I was here with a friend a few weeks before.

The meeting was special as there was an intermission which we could watch a magic show. The performer could change his masks in split seconds. You could see what he did in the videos below.

There was also a clown who came to our table and his task was to transform balloons into many other shapes and figures - for kids.

The discussion was done in a more informal manner, chatting and at the same time enjoying the buffet spread.

Someone was about to celebrate her birthday the next day so we had an earlier birthday party for her.

The meeting was a brief one but I focused more on eating rather than discussing the important matters regarding the gathering. That should be alright as the committee members would be keeping in touch [online] almost every day. In fact, discussions happened all the time in our Whatsapp group.
