ATTENDING A CHILD SUPPORT TEAM COURSE IN CRYSTAL CROWN HOTEL

   14th - 16th APRIL 2025    ~ I attended a course organized by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat [Welfare Department] of Johor. The sessions were about Child Support Team [CST] which was actually similar to Pasukan Pelindung Kanak-kanak [Child Protection Team].

The 3D2N course was held at Crystal Crown Hotel, Johor Bahru. I got to have the chance to stay in hotel [for free] these days attending course and seminars after voluntarily working with the Department.

The course was interesting as it was filled with activities throughout, and not just talk sessions. Another thing, I got to mingle with people of different background, especially with those were grouped together with me.

By the end of the course, I got to understand that the members of the CST should act as the eyes and ears to make sure the safety and welfare of the children are well taken care of in the community.

HOTEL REVIEW: VIP HOTEL, SEGAMAT

I put up a night in Segamat town after attending a wedding of an ex-student in Felda Redong [READ HERE]. At the same time, I went to visit an ex-schoolmate in Tangkak the next day [READ HERE].

I decided to stay at VIP Hotel which should be one of the expensive hotels in town. Indeed, it was the right decision.

The building was still new, the room was spacious and clean, which should be the most important factor.

I took the breakfast package this time, and it was another wise decision. The selection of food was decent enough and the dining area was also big. There was however a large crowd that morning.

It was only a short stay but I would not hesitate to choose VIP Hotel again next time I am back in Segamat.

HOTEL REVIEW: EMPIRE HOTEL, SUBANG JAYA

This was my second time staying at Empire Hotel, Subang Jaya.

TODAY IN HISTORY: MEETING JACKLYN VICTOR IN PERSON

Today must be my lucky day. I met someone while waiting for a friend at the lobby of Hotel Seri Malaysia, Johor Bahru. Introducing.... the one and only: Jacklyn Victor. *THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE*

I requested for a photo to be taken with her and she kindly agreed. Even though she looked tired as she  just arrived [I had already seen her walking from her car with her husband into the hotel lobby under the hot sun], she still struck a pose, smiling nonchalantly. She was truly a star. 

Today should be one day in history when I managed to be photographed with another Malaysian Diva.

THE UNPLANNED VISIT TO MY ALMA MATER

   23RD JUNE 2025    ~ Mr. Mustafa Abu Talib Jailani was kind enough to take me on a guided tour around the campus of Universiti Putra Malaysia [previously known as Universiti Pertanian Malaysia]. We did not get into the academic and faculties compound but the focus was on the other side where there were residential colleges, Expo Hill, the university hospital and the MARDI area. I was here last year with a friend.for a short visit.

The first stop was Fourth Residential College, a.k.a Kolej Canselor. [It was also formerly known as Kolej Jelapang] This was the place where I spent almost 6 years of life and enjoyed every single minute. 

After more than 30 years, things sure had changed a lot. Walking down memory lane accompanied by the ex-Manager of the college sure brought back all the memories of the six years spent at Kolej Canselor.
