LEAVING SOEKARNO HATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

15th MARCH 2020 ~ Today was the last day I was in Jakarta, about to leave the metropolitan city before Malaysia closed its border to all other countries in two days' time because of the C-19 pandemic.

Soekarno Hatta International Airport was not as busy as it used to be. People had already stopped travelling at that time which was actually at its initial stage in the region.

I had a lot of time to kill so I went to get lunch first.

And coffee a few minutes later.

That was the last time I traveled abroad and it has been a year already.

Even though people are already given vaccines in stages now, I am still not sure when traveling will be allowed or when will it be safe to leave the country again?

I just miss the life I had one year ago. 😥

ARRIVING IN JAKARTA - PART ONE

14th September 2014 ~ It was just like a dream came true - to land in Jakarta with 11 students and 3 teachers. It was only just a suggestion of one of the possible activities for Angklung Group members at first. It had become possible with the support given by parents to spend some money for the trip as well as their trust to let the children go away for a few days to another country.

These are the sequence of events that took place on the first day:

07:00 Boarded Yoyo Express Bus from Taman Tun Aminah Terminal, Johor Bahru.
10:30 Arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
13:20 Checked in.
16:20 KLM flight took off.
17:30 Landed in Jakarta, met our driver cum guide at a designated area outside Soeharto-Hatta International Airport.

the monopod had been used to the fullest throughout our trip
What happened after that, I could not really remember the exact time. We were then taken for our first meal in Jakarta at a "Nasi Padang" restaurant, after going through the traffic jam, which happened all the time here.

Right after dinner, we all hopped into the van again and were driven to visit our first spot in Jakarta.
