THE DINNER SESSION BEFORE CATCHING THE FLIGHT HOME AT KLIA2

9TH FEBRUARY 2025    ~ Mr. Rosman Fudzi was kind enough to give me a lift to KLIA2 Airport. He was driving from his house in Shah Alam and picked me up at my hotel in USJ10. We then stopped for our early dinner at Tomyam Fara Seafood Restaurant located near the airport.

Since it was a Thai Restaurant, we had to eat dinner like Thais do. The food on the table reminded me of the gastronomic adventure I had in Southern Thailand in November last year.

Once the tummy was full, I was so ready to get to the airport and wait for my flight at 10:20 p.m. And I would be meeting Mr. Rosman again in February for our short trip.

THE LAST BREAKFAST SESSION BEFORE LEAVING HATYAI

24TH NOVEMBER 2024    ~ It was the last breakfast session in Hatyai before leaving. We went to this restaurant called Marita Dim Sum Halal - to eat more Dim Sum.

This place was also popular among Malaysian tourists. There were already fellow countrymen [and countrywomen] enjoying their breakfast when we reached the place.

We had to make a move as we would be venturing out of Hatyai before heading home. I will be missing all the Thai breakfast food especially its Dim Sum.

GOING THAI FOR DINNER IN PAKBARA, THAILAND

21st NOVEMBER 2024    ~ After checking in at the hotel, it was time for us to embark on our very first gastronomic adventure in Pakbara. We decided to stop at a restaurant that was not far away for the hotel called Papaya Mom 2.

The restaurant was brightly lit and beautifully decorated.

Diners could also have the option to dine out outside at the spot which was right beside the ocean. I guess the ambience would be different to enjoy the food during the day, with the waves splashing right next to you and the bright daylight for you to enjoy the view.

We had the regular Thai food for our first meal which comprised of rice, tomyam and all the seafood. Everything was almost similar to the Thai food we have in Malaysia.

Once the tummy was full, we were happy and ready to get back to the hotel to get some rest after the long trip, and get ready for more adventure the next day.

FOOTNOTE: If you could not tolerate spicy food in Thailand, do remember to request for dishes which are less spicy.

THE GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE BEFORE LEAVING SHAH ALAM

3RD MARCH 2024    ~ When I was in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Ridwan A. Wahid was again kind enough to fetch me at Subang Pyramid after me attending a wedding reception [READ HERE], let me stay at his house in Shah Alam and take me out for dinner before sending me to Subang Airport.

We went Thai that evening at Samat Thai Restaurant. So we had dishes like Tom Yum, Som Tam and Paprik. The food was of course very Thai-ish. Unfortunately, I felt that the Tom Yum too sour for me and my friends found the other dishes were quite hot/spicy for them.

This restaurant was located at this new eating site  Bandar Puncaak Alam called Grandeur Labs. It was a cluster of restaurants and a hypermarket, which looked very modern. In a way, people could go and get their meals after shopping or it could be the other way around. This place seemed popular among the locals [everybody else looked locals to me that evening] as most the seats were already occupied at the earlier places we went into, and we had to settle at Samat's.

We could not stay there too long so as to make sure I would not miss my flight home.

For the umpteenth time, I got to thanks Mr. Ridwan and family for spending their precious weekend time and entertaining me during my transit period. May Allah bless their kind souls Nevertheless, there could be similar gastronomic adventures in the future and hope they would not get bored of me. 😀.

THE GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE IN SUBANG BEFORE FLYING BACK HOME

30TH SEPTEMBER 2023    ~ Mr. Ridwan Wahid, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, was kind enough to accompany and entertain me before sending me to Subang Airport. The very first stop was Suthiphong Bangkok which was not in Bangkok to get dinner Thai style. We should be among their earliest customers that day as they were just about to start their business when we arrived.

I then received a notification from Firefly, informing my flight was to be retimed, for the second time. Mr. Ridwan could just simply send me to the airport as I wouldn't mind staying there waiting but he instantaneously had other plan in mind.

He then drove to Shaaz, a Mamak restaurant which was still in Shah Alam area. I got my Masala Tea and he got his "Roti Tisu" and Teh O.

I did not expect to go on other gastronomic adventures after attending the wedding reception in the afternoon. I got to thank Mr. Ridwan again for spending his precious time with me and making sure that I was not hungry before dropping me off at the airport for the evening.

To have a kind-hearted friend is indeed one of the greatest blessings in life.
