ROTI CANAI AND TEH TARIK FOR BREAKFAST IN KUALA PILAH

22nd SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ On the second day in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, I decided to walk a bit early in the morning around the hotel area. At the same time, I was trying to find any place where I could get my breakfast to start my day.

I spotted a place where there were two stalls which were already operating and I opted for the one named "Roti Canai Boboi Melang" for its flat bread a.k.a paratha and Teh Tarik.

There were not many customers yet and the service was fast. The simple gastronomic adventure should conclude my 2-day stay in Kuala Pilah and hoping I could be back again one day.

A SHORT STOP AT MASJID DIRAJA TUANKU MUNAWIR IN SERI MENANTI

21ST SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ After the visit at Istana Lama Seri Menanti [READ HERE], I decided to stop by at Masjid Diraja Tuanku Munawir [TRANSLATE: The Royal Mosque] which was just nearby, to perform my afternoon prayers.

There was an event in progress outside the mosque.

There was a Royal Mausoleum which housed the tombs of royalty of Negeri Sembilan in the mosque compound.

I had to make my move once I was done with my prayers as it looked like as if it was going to rain, and I needed to register for my accommodation in Kuala Pilah town.

THE LUNCH DATE WITH A TESL FRIEND IN BANGI

27th SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ I was in Bangi [again] to attend a wedding reception of another UPM TESL friend's son. An old friend, Puan Azwan Shaiza Nizam, was kind enough to meet for lunch after the Friday prayer.

The chosen venue was Homst Restaurant, a Chinese Muslim eatery, located in Bangi Gateway which was very near to the hotel where I was staying and also Puan Azwan's working place.

It was just a short lunch date as Puan Azwan had to be on the way home to Seremban before 4:30 p.m. so as to avoid the traffic jam. It was always good to get to spend some time with a friend once in a while. Thanks to my TESL mate for initiating the meeting and thanks for lunch treat too. Hope to see you again some other in Bangi, Seremban, Johor Bahru or some other places in the future.

A FAREWELL GATHERING FOR FRIENDS TRANSFERRING BACK TO THEIR HOMETOWNS

There were five ex-colleagues [of SMK Dato' Jaafar] whose applications to be transferred back to their hometowns were approved. A farewell lunch was organized to formally bid them farewell. However, only three of them could attend and the other two were already teaching in their new schools.

The chosen venue was again The Infusion Cafe at KSL Hotel.

Even though half of the teachers and staff of the school turned up this time, it was still a joyous occasion.

Wishing the five people the very best of luck at their new place and may they excel in their teaching profession.
