THE END OF THE DAMANSARA SHORT GETAWAY

The lunch at Mee Tarik Warisan Asli at KLIA2 marked the end of the end of the short getaway in Damansara for 3D2N.

The reason this restaurant was chosen was that I needed a place where there were not many people so I could stay there for a long time. I arrived too early in the afternoon for my flight scheduled at 9:00 p.m.

The last time I had Mee Tarik at this restaurant [at another branch in Johor Bahru] was in 2021 [READ HERE]. It was the usual taste of Mee Tarik and Bao Bao Tea, but I had somewhat forgotten whether the taste of the broth was similar, or was it better last time.

After all the long wait, as I had passed the security checkpoint, then only I saw the notification on the electronic board informing my flight was delayed for 40 minutes. There was no update on the big electronic board outside, and even on the AirAsia apps it was still stated the flight was still on time. The airline company should have made the necessary update for the passengers. As in my case, I had to say "goodbye" to a friend at the terminal earlier after chatting for less than 10 minutes. This was actually a bad ending for my short getaway this time.

CELEBRATING A FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY AT THE AIRPORT

I had a flight to catch at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2. Since an old friend [of UPM TESL Class of 1993] had her birthday today, we might as well had the [small celebration at the airport]. I asked another friend, Puan Hayati Ismail, to ask the birthday girl whether she was free to meet us there.

Puan Hayati was already waiting for me at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, then the birthday girl arrived.

It was a short birthday celebration but I was glad to get to see both my old friends. We parted ways as I had to do my check in while they had make their way home. God will, there will be more coffee sessions, with birthday celebrations or not, going to happen after this.

THE GATHERING THAT HAPPENED AT KLIA2

30TH OCTOBER 2024    ~ I had a few hours to kill to catch my AirAsia flight home to Johor Bahru. A gathering with two ex-schoolmates of SMS Muar was set Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2.

The lunch date took place at Tea Garden where there were not many people in the dining area. Hence we could sit longer to enjoy our food [and gossip].

Then there was this notification informing that my flight was delayed for about an hour so we then adjourned for coffee at Richiamo Coffee nearby.

We were there for about 3 hours to catch up for lost time, which was not enough. Hopefully there would be another opportunity for another gathering with Puan Adura Adnan and Puan Hafizah Mohd. Noor in the near future.

There was an unexpected meeting with two people in the boarding hall. There were Dr. Ng Pei Fern, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, and Puan Law Siao Siu, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, who are now colleagues. They were also going back to Johor Bahru after attending a course in Putrajaya. Reunion happened everywhere.

BLOGGING FROM KLIA2 - HOMEBOUND

free entertainment at the airport

I am now waiting for the time to be called for boarding at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2. Expected departure time will be at 15:50 hrs. Just can't wait to get home after all the drama of flight cancellation and delays that happened when I was in Kobe.
HOME SWEET HOME 😀

THE GATHERING THAT TOOK PLACE AT KLIA2

1ST MARCH 2023   ~ An impromptu gathering with a few friends of UPM TESL Class of 1993 took place at KLIA2, specifically at Richiamo Cafe. I was lucky to have people who had taken the time and effort to accompany me at the airport after arriving from Labuan and while waiting for my next flight home to Johor Bahru.

Thanks Puan Hayati Ismail, Mr. Ridwan Wahid [and his wife and daughter] and Pn Salmiah Ghazali for the time and company. Luckily I had put something I bought from Kundasang in my backpack so I could hand over the souvenirs from my holiday to them.
The wait for my next [delayed] flight was not that bad after I got to meet and chat with friends.

THE ART EXHIBITION AT KLIA2 - WASTE TO ART

There was this art exhibition taking place at KLIA2. I saw this when I was there on 18th December 2019. The event was interesting as the exhibits were produced by using waste products, like plastic, metal, clothe, paper, organic waste and wood.

It was amazing how our fellow Malaysians could turn waste materials into art masterpieces.

In a way, this exhibition is trying to convey the message to the society of the importance of practicing the 3Rs - "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". However, you still need the talent and skills to turn waste materials into work of art. As for me, it would be best just to send recyclable items to the recycling centre neraby.

Unfortunately not many people stopped by to see this exhibition even though it was free. Still, congratulations to the organizers for holding this art event for the public. And congratulations too to all the artists for their brilliant exhibits.
