AQIQAH EVENT ONE SATURDAY AFTERNOON

24th AUGUST 2019 ~ I was invited by ex-students of SMK Taman Universiti, Mr. Hafizuddin Abd. Wahid [SPM batch 2004] and his younger brother, Mr. Syarifuddin Abd. Wahid [SPM batch 2010], to an aqiqah event. It was held at their parents' house in Taman Universiti and the aqiqah was for Mr. Hafizuddin's third child.

I arrived there at 3.00 p.m. and there were not many people, just an ex-student, Ms. Yanie Zin [and this was her FB's name] with her husband and kids.

I have to thanks both the siblings for their kind thoughts of inviting me over. I hope there will be more chances to attend similar events, or any other occasions, in the future at their place.

THERE IS ALWAYS A THIRD TIME

A bowling tournament for SMK Dato Jaafar will be held again next week - a sequel to the one we had for Teacher's Day. It was time for me to get the feel of it before the real day arrives even though the chance of winning is definitely very slim.

There were also other groups of teachers and staff conducting their training or trying out sessions when I arrived after school.

One of the staff at the bowling place introduced himself as my ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti (SPM batch 2004) but he moved away to other school after form 3. Thanks Mr. Mohd. Saiful for saying "hi" and I will meet you again next week.

As for the time being, I am going to sleep with already an aching arm tonight. *sigh*

ATTENDING AN "AQIQAH" EVENT AFTER SCHOOL

21st JULY 2019 ~ I was invited by Mr. Ahmad Firdaus Ahmad Shahlan [SPM batch 2001] to attend his sister's aqiqah event which was done to welcome the arrival of her new bundle of joy into the family. Coincidentally. Firdaus is married to his schoolmate, Puan Noor Al-Iman Madzlan [also of SPM batch 2001]. So I have already a few ex-students in just one family. It was held at their parents' house in Kampung Melayu Kangkar Pulai.

*NOTE: AQIQAH is an event held to show gratefulness for a baby being born. Usually an animal like a goat will be slaughtered and cooked for guests. At the same time, there are prayers, hoping for a blessed life for the baby.

I was not expecting for another reunion session of ex-students SMK Taman Universiti to take place as I arrived quite late but it happened. So there were Ms. Irma Marlis [SPM 2004] and her younger sister Ms. Minarti Marlis [SPM 2006] and I joined at at the table after getting my food.

Then I met Ms. Raubiyah and an ex-colleague, Puan A'liah Hussein inside the house.

Before going back, Dr. Syazni Rosli [SPM batch 2002] whom I had not met since she left SMKTUN in form four, arrived with her family.

I got to thank Mr. Firdaus for inviting me and he will be going back to Saudi soon. It was an afternoon after school well spent.

ATTENDING SITI NOR' AIN'S WEDDING RECEPTION

It was another SMKTUN's ex-student's wedding reception today. The lucky bride was Ms. Siti Nor' Ain Mohd. Nor of SPM batch 2004.

The bride's two other brothers and sister-in-law also attended the same school so there were more people to see and talk to.

As usual, there were some familiar faces from school who were also there at Kolej Perdana, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Congratulations to Ms. Siti Nor' Ain and Mr. Abdul Qayyum on their wedding day. May the love you share today grow stronger as you grow older.

I think this should be the very last wedding of an ex-student before the month of Ramadhan arrives. Then it will continue right after that.

THE POST EID VISIT 1439H [PART ONE]

Dr. Shafiq Shahmi Mat Rebi paid me a visit for Eid, accompanied by his wife and kids. Despite the fact today is no longer the month of Syawal when Eid is celebrated, people are always welcomed to the house. You don't have to come only during Eid celebration.

I should thank Dr. Shafiq, an alumni of SMKTUN [SPM batch 2004] for his kind and thoughtful gesture. He is one of the regular visitors for Eid and hope we will see each other again, but not at the clinic hopefully.

I am expecting a bigger group of visitors right after this....

THE 23rd DAY OF EID 1439H

SATURDAY, 7th JULY 2018, had been a very long and tiring day for me. First there was this Alumni Eid get together in SMK Taman Universiti, which was followed by a few house visits and a wedding reception. Here is the report in brief.

WEDDING RECEPTION

The father of the bridegroom,
and Puan Hashazah with her husband.

Mr. Mohammad bin Kadir, a non-academic staff of SMK Taman Universiti, held a wedding reception for his son at his house in Taman Universiti, Johor Bahru.

As usual, I met a few friends/ex-colleagues there. And at the same time, Mr. Mohammad's eldest son, Mr. Nazary, is also my ex-student in SMKTUN (SPM batch 2004).

OPEN HOUSE #1

From Taman Universiti, I made my way to Bandar Baru Kangkar Pulai. This time it was Eid's Open House held by Mr. Tukiman Sarmin, the PK HEM (Senior Assistant of Students' Affair) of SMK Dato' Jaafar, my colleague now. There were a few people from school who were there at the same time.

I went to another open house right after at Taman Pulai Indah actually but it was not highlighted here. The place was quite crowded at that time with people who were mostly strangers to me.

HOUSE VISIT

As I had decided to go to another open house invitation in the evening with Mr. Amirul Husni Shaarin (SPM batch 2010), I might as well pay him a visit at his house. Both the parents were at Shah Alam at that time so it was just a short stay.

OPEN HOUSE #3

I was invited by Mr. Syarifuddin Wahid (SPM batch 2010) and his elder brother Mr. Hafizuddin Wahid (SPM batch 2004) at their place in Taman Universiti. I had been invited to the same event before but this year, I managed to make it there.

There were more ex-students I met there. However, I could not stay too long as I was already too full and too tired. I went to bed early when I reached home and had slept like a log.

I am still expecting more photos from the host's camera to be published here.

6 more days before Eid comes to its end this year.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF DR. AZATY HAMZAH AND MR. AZUAN

On the third day of Eid, I attended the wedding reception of Dr. Azaty Hamzah (SMKTUN's alumni SPM batch 2004) and Mr. Azuan. The reception was held at Taman Universiti Sports Complex.

I did not actually teach Azaty but she was in the school's chess team in form 2 and form 3, before leaving for a boarding school in form 4. She is now attached to Sultan Ibrahim Hospital, Kulai.
