FINALLY AND OFFICIALLY RETIRED

thumb-printing for the very last time

Finally, the time has come for Puan A'liah Hussein to officially retire from the teaching profession today. And she has now vacated the seat of the Senior Assistant of the Afternoon Session at SMK Mutiara Rini.

Even though I have had lost a very dear friend for many short but regular gossip sessions in school, I am actually very happy for her as this could be the best decision she has made for herself. And hopefully, we will be seeing each other again (in a bigger group) some other time in the future.

May Puan A'liah Hussein enjoy her retirement days ahead to the fullest. And we will plan for more eating and gossiping sessions for next year.

A HI-TEA GATHERING FOR THE RETIREES WANNABE OF SMK TAMAN UNIVERSITI

We witness the highest number of teachers of SMK Taman Universiti who chose to opt to retire earlier this year. The five of them are Tuan Haji Sabru Salleh, Puan Hajah Faridah Wazir, Puan Hajah Hamidah Mokhtar, Puan Hajah Marina Abdullah and Puan Aliah Hussein.

A hi-tea gathering to bid farewell to them was held at Mutiara Hotel, Johor Bahru and two friends who had already retired, Puan Hajah Tuan Mah Tuan Mat and Puan Hajah Ruhanah Mohd. Som, were also present.

Basically what we did was ate a lot, chatted a lot and took a of photos too. Then parting presents were presented to the retirees wannabe before we bid farewell, although I am quite sure we will meet again some other time in the future. As for me, I was here not only for the food, but also to be back in the circle of people I know well.

We will not be seeing them in school anymore after this and hope that they will be enjoying their endless holidays after this.

And I am writing this while turning green with envy and will still be counting for my turn to come. *sigh*

A POTLUCK GATHERING FOR THE RETIRING PUAN ALIAH HUSSEIN

A potluck gathering was held today at the residence of Puan Umi Kalsom Miswan who formerly taught in SMK Taman Universiti. (She is now in SMK Kangkar Pulai). The members of the session today comprised of the SMKTUN's English teachers of the present and the past, and a Chinese Language teacher too). The main objective was to bid farewell to our beloved Puan Aliah Hussein who will be retiring next week.

With all the food served on the table and had to be eaten, I seriously need to consider a plan during this 5-week school holiday so I would lose some weight and get back my ideal body shape.

As for the interlude to the eating and gossiping session, we had a belated birthday celebration for Miss Cheong Vee Wen. This should be some kind of a surprise for her. With more cakes and coffee on the table, I seriously need to consider a plan during this 5-week school holiday so I would lose some weight and get back my ideal body shape.

There should not be anything else more fun when you had good food and surrounded by good friends. I suggest that we have this kind of session again next year, on a regular basis, and I will draft a timetable so people could take turns organizing the pot luck sessions. I always come up with brilliant ideas. *the image of a lighting bulb above my head*.

Thank you Puan Umi Kalsom, the husband and the kids for opening the door of their house for us. Tell Mr. Nadzir I love the coffee so much and will not hesitate to come back for more.
