VISITING THE RECYCLING HUB AFTER THE EID SPRING CLEANING

12th APRIL 2025 ~ Spring cleaning activity was a popular past time before the arrival of Eid. There must be a lot of things that needed to be thrown away. Mine was heaps of boxes.

There was a need to visit the Recycling Hub in B5 Tampoi as these boxes were bulky and took up a lot of space. Mission was successfully accomplished and documented.

'TIS THE SEASON TO RECYCLE

It was time to carry out my social responsibility - to do recycling. I already had a carload of recyclable items that had to be sent to the Recycling Hub at B5, Tampoi. I was here in August last year [READ HERE] so I had accumulated enough materials to be disposed off.

I will need to check the SWM's KITARecycle Portal for how much cash I can earn later. Still, I had done my part to save planet Earth.

THE LATE AFTERNOON TEA SESSION AT B5

A short tea session with Mr. Muhammad Ariff Mohd Nizam [an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti] was carried out at place called Kanteen [the Malay word for "Canteen"] at B5, near Plaza Angsana.

We decided to have something light so Char Koi [fried bread] with Kaya [Coconut Paste/Jam] and French Toasts] were brought to the table.

I would come back to this Cafe just for its Milk Tea if I were to come here next time.

We were actually there for a project that was completed earlier.

However, I am not going to reveal what it is really about. You will have to wait until Thursday just to find out. Just consider as some kind of teaser of the upcoming post. 😀

THE FOOD COURT AT B5 JOHOR STREET MARKET

23rd SEPTEMBER 2020 ~ A few photos of the food court at B5 Street Market, one of the latest attractions in Johor Bahru. There were a few stalls which were operating when I went there in the afternoon on a weekday. The flow of visitors coming in and out was encouraging and business was good.

The only food I tried here was from the Laksa Sarang Burung stall. [READ HERE]

There are also food trucks selling food outside. They just arrived when I was about to leave the place. Guess I need to come here later in the evening to see what else is available.

It is good to know there is a spot to visit when I am on some sort of gastronomic adventure and there is an option to take my friends when they come visiting. I just hope this place will still be operational for many more months to come and more people will drop by to make sure the tenants could run their business for a longer period.

B5 JOHOR STREET MARKET - THE LATEST ATTRACTION IN TOWN

23rd SEPTEMBER 2020 ~ The latest attraction in town is B5 Johor Street Market. B5 derived its name from the original commercial area of the spot: Batu 5 [TRANSLATE: 5th Mile]. The place is now known as B Five which sounds more hipster.

Basically, people come here for three reasons. First, to shop. Second, to eat. Third, to take photos. As for me, the second reason will take me back here.

I came here after school to try a few of its foods with an ex-student and to check out this new spot. There were not many people around on a working day. I was told that this place was more lively in the evening and during weekends/public holidays.

Another post is going to be specifically about the food court of this place coming your way real soon. Do come back for more.
