REVISITING INFUSION CAFE IN KSL HOTEL WITH MR. RIDWAN AND HIS FAMILY

   11TH OCTOBER 2025    ~ My friend, Mr. Ridwan A. Wahid and his family, were back in town. A dinner date was set and the venue chosen was Infusion Cafe in KSL Hotel for the buffet eat-all-you-can meal.

The place was super crowded that evening as there were three school holding their Graduation Event at the same time. We still enjoyed our food though despite the congestion at every corner of the hall. By 8:00 p.m., the crowd was thinning and moving around to get our food [and drinks] was much easier.

They earlier came to my house to pick me up and drop me off later. Hence, I gave them a short tour around the front and backyard of my place.

The dinner was to celebrate my birthday which was yesterday and they even came to hand over a present for me. How kind and thoughtful of them.

We would be meeting again the next day for breakfast before they check out and went back to Shah Alam.

ANOTHER FAREWELL LUNCH FOR THE RETIREES AT INFUSION CAFE

Another gathering was held by the teachers and staff of SMK Dato' Jaafar today at Infusion Cafe, KSL. This time it was to bid farewell to two retirees, Puan Norzah Md. Daris and Puan Radziah Hassan.

This was an all ladies' affair as the party was done on a Friday afternoon. All the other men stay far away from the hotel and might not have enough time to get to the hotel for lunch. That should be a valid reason why I looked like I was in the wrong place.

It was still one fun session as for once the ladies were taking control of the karaoke system in the hall and surprisingly there was a lot of hidden talent.

Wishing Puan Norzah and Puan Radziah a stress-free life ahead and may we meet in other events in the future.

MY FIRST UPM TESL FRIEND AS THE GUEST FOR THE YEAR 2025

Puan Sakinah Mohd. Ismail, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, and her husband, Mr. Azhar Ahmad, were back in town. They were my first guests of the year and as usual, we went to get dinner. They were happy to go back to Infusion Cafe at KSL Hotel for our first gastronomic adventure.

We stayed there for about two hours and a half, and they had to go get some rest after the long journey from Seremban in the morning. We already had a date for the next episode of the gastronomic adventure in Johor Bahru for breakfast tomorrow.

ANOTHER FAREWELL GATHERING FOR AN EX-COLLEAGUE GOING BACK TO HIS HOMETOWN

Another friend/ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar got his transfer application approved to go back and teach in his hometown. Actually his hometown is 2 hours drive away from the place he is being transferred to but still he managed to get back to Terengganu.

A farewell gathering was promptly organized for Mr. Ahmad Ridzuan Mohamad as the end of the session school break has already started and more people are expected to leave the city soon. We just decided to get the event done at our favourite place, Infusion Cafe in KSL Hotel.

We had a few people who are no longer in SDJ to come and bid farewell, including the State Education Director, Tuan Haji Hanafi Samad, The District Education Office Deputy Officer; Tuan Haji Abdul Karim Masiran; Tuan Haji Noor Rahilme Mohamed Noor, the State Education Language Officer' and Ustaz Amirulhakim Mahfuz, the Principal of SMK Tasek Utara 2.

Wishing Mr. Ahmad Ridzuah Mohamad the very best of luck in his new school. Hope to see you one day in Terengganu.

A BUFFET LUNCH SESSION WITH A TESL FRIEND FROM KUALA LUMPUR

Puan Hanna Sheikh Mokhtar, a friend of my UPM TESL Class of 1993, and her family were here in town. They went to attend a wedding reception yesterday and we set a lunch date before they went back to Kuala Lumpur right after.

The chosen venue was Infusion Cafe at KSL Hotel. I had to introduce them to this place which served a variety of good food for its buffet lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices.

The place was however very crowded this afternoon as 4 schools were having their graduation ceremony.

At the same time, there was also this one unit from the State Education Department which had their workshop at the hotel. I knew a few people from the group.

There was also an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti who came to attend her daughter's graduation ceremony.

We left at about 2:30 p.m. Thanks to Puan Hanna and her family for the short dining session. Hope to see them again before new year in Kuala Lumpur for a wedding reception, if the plan works.

Mr. Ridwan Wahid, his wife Puan Suhaila Sulong and daughter Miss Reihana were back in town. The very first gastronomic adventure happened at Infusion Cafe in KSL Hotel.

Birthday celebration took place for two people. One was done in advance for Puan Suhaila [which should be in a week's time] and the other was a belated for myself [a day late]. This was a private party so there was no cake or birthday song sung in the dining hall and I thanked God for that. I still have to thank the family for the lovely time [eating continuously from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.].

There will be more gastronomic adventures happening tomorrow and the day after.
