PLAYING TOURIST AND EXPLORING KEMAMAN WITH AN EX-COLLEAGUE - PART 1

27TH JANUARY 2026    ~ I decided to cross over to Terengganu from Pahang to meet up with an ex-colleague [of SMK Taman Universiti], Puan Rohani Shamsuddin, who is residing in Kemaman. The early plan was to take the bus, but I missed the last bus in the morning so I decided to hop on a taxi. Puan Rohani met me at the bus station in Chukai town, and the first activity was to explore Kemaman. She was with her husband who was kind enough to take me around for sight-seeing.

The first stop was the bridge over Chukai River [correct me if I am wrong], where the sign "KEMAMAN IDAMAN" on the hilltop was visible.

The second stop was Kuala Kemaman which looked like a fishing village. One could enjoy the ocean view minus the beach. There were huge rocks by the seaside which I think acted as a barrier to stop erosion of ocean waves.

It looked like I was the only tourist, with two tourist guides and a cat.

ENJOYING THE SEA BREEZE ONE SUNNY AFTERNOON

26TH JANUARY 2026    ~ The final destination of the day was Teluk Cempedak Beach, another iconic tourists attraction of Kuantan. We were there just to enjoy the scenery, the beach and to cooling sea breeze, as well as observing people who were there after 5:00 p.m.

The place was buzzing with activities - either on the sandy beach or on the higher ground with no beach sand.

I decided to explore and walk around the place, from one end to the other.

The last time I came to this place was two years ago. [READ HERE]

I managed to spot a few monkeys and an orange cat.

We had to be on the move again as there was another dinner gathering right after.

FOOTNOTE: I went to Teluk Cempedak again, on my own, the very next day [READ HERE].

THE PET SHOP AT SANNOMIYA SHOPPING STREET

19TH JULY 2024    ~ On the second day of my stay in Kobe, the very first thing I found when I was about to start exploring the city was a pet shop at Sannomiya Shopping Street.

Initially, I just watched the kittens and puppies from outside the shop but decided to get inside to see more of them.

I even asked the staff whether it was alright to take photos and I was free to do that.

It was a short and enjoyable visit to the pet shop. For one thing, this pet shop did not smell like a pet shop at all. Wish we could have something like this back home.

By the way, the name of the shop was Pet Paradise - and it felt like a paradise for cats and puppies to me.
