IT'S PING PONG TIME AGAIN

After years of no ping pong session, it was time to start getting involved in sports again. The shoes were the evidence of how sports items and other things as well were badly damaged after not being used for a long time.

I play ping pong for fun and to spend my leisure time, definitely not eligible for any competition.

Thanks Mr. Farhan Hamidi, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, for inviting me to come over to his studio to play ping pong in the afternoon, just like last time.

We should do this more often in the future.

A COFFEE SESSION WITH A FRIEND FROM PUTRAJAYA

Puan Wan Aisyah Wan Haris, a friend of UPM TESL class of 1993, was here in town again for work related matter so it was the best time to take her to the cafe which I am familiar for coffee, or tea, and other pastries.

We stayed in the cafe for about an hour as the meeting in school finished late and later I had to rush home for Maghrib prayer. However, it was always a pleasure to sit down, chat and do some catching up regardless of the short time we had. Thanks Puan Wan Aisyah for the meeting as promised when we met last time in August.

STOPPING BY AT SARAWAK STATE MOSQUE

5th SEPTEMBER 2022  ~ We could see the tall minaret and dome from far away so it would be best to stop by at Sarawak State Mosque to perform our prayers.

We were there an hour past the Asar prayer time so there was no one else around. The prayer hall was actually not that bright at that moment but there was enough light to take photos.

It was a huge and beautiful mosque no doubt but I just wonder how many people would come to perform their daily prayers there.

AN IMPROMPTU VISIT TO SARAWAK STATE LIBRARY

5TH SEPTEMBER 2022  ~ I instantaneously fell in love at first sight when I saw this building from afar. The first view was actually seen from the main road where there was a lake in front of it. Never did I expect this to be the building of a public library and I forced my skilled driver to quickly make a detour so we could check it out.

We made our way into the lobby of the library. Unfortunately, when I asked the staff at the counter, I could not take any photo if I went into the other parts of the library so we had to be happy to explore the exterior part of the building.

We went into the cafe but there was not much food left at that time in the afternoon.

The other side of the library was facing the lake. Not only the building was huge, even the surrounding compound was very big. I think it was connected to the park at the other side of the lake.

The Sarawak State Library was not in our original itinerary list but we were glad we stopped by. I wish the government should spend more money on facility like this for the public. Kudos to the Sarawak government.
