THE BRIEF PRE-LUNCH SESSION WITH AN EX-COLLEAGUE

I met Mr. Sanusi Jusoh, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, at Taman Sri Pulai Mosque. [He is now teaching in SMK Skudai.] We both came to visit an ex-colleague's/ex-students' father who passed away and the prayer was held at the mosque. We instantaneously decided to get something light for lunch and the nearest eating place was Restoran Aminah.

It was only a short dine in meeting but it was worth the time. It is now getting more and more difficult to meet and chat with ex-colleagues as people seem to be busy with work related matters.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MR MUHD FAIZ YUSOF

18th JULY 2026    ~ Right after the event in Sanglang, Pontian [READ HERE], I drove homebound to attend another wedding reception in the Community Hall at Taman Pulai Utama. It was the wedding of an ex-student's, Mr. Muhd. Faiz Yusof.

I arrived at about 2:30 p.m. expecting to be one of the latecomers but there were still many guests in the hall.

The food was still aplenty. I was still full from the feast from the previous event, so I just went for the "kuih", cakes and dessert.

There were some ex-students who were also present and I met one ex-colleague with her husband.

Thanks Mr. Faiz for your kind thought of inviting me to your reception. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, happiness and countless beautiful memories. May your journey together be blessed every step of the way.

ATTENDING A WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S DAUGHTER IN SANGLANG, PONTIAN

The wedding reception venue for today was about 71 kilometres away from home, in Sanglang, Pontian. I was still excited to accept the invitation despite the distance. It was an honour to still be invited by Puan Sabariah Mohd. Sofian, an ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar, to her daughter's big day.

It was another weekend of eating a big variety of good food.

I was glad that my gastronomic adventure buddy decided to accompany to the reception. Driving long distance was definitely much more enjoyable when there was someone to talk to all the way to and fro.

As expected, a mini gathering of ex-colleagues of SMK Dato' Jaafar took place at the wedding venue.

I could not stay for long as there was another reception to be attended right after [READ HERE].

Congratulations to Puan Sabariah and family on the arrival of a new member into the clan. Hoping I will still be invited for more similar events in the future.

Puan Zakiah Abdullah, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, held the second wedding reception for the family. This time it was Mr. Idris Ebi Shahrin's turn, and he also attended the same school as her mother.

As usual, another mini reunion happened with ex-colleagues and ex-students. The wedding event was Bizmilla Hall at Eko Botanic, somewhere in Gelang Patah.

HAVING AYAM GEPUK FOR LUNCH

I had the opportunity to go on a lunch date with two ex-colleagues of SMK Dato' Jaafar, Mr. Shafiq and Mr. Abdul Aziz. The chosen venue was Nasi Ayam Gepuk Bang Ujang located in Kampung Melayu.

I actually had a craving for Nasi Ayam Gepuk and today I was happy to savour it for lunch.

This was my third time at the restaurant. The place seemed to be popular by looking at the number of people who came during lunch hour.

It was a very short lunch date and we could not sit for too long as they had to get back to school. Looking forward to another chance to meet up again after this.
