THREE WEDDING RECEPTIONS IN ONE AFTERNOON

There were three wedding receptions attended, one after another this afternoon. The route was Kempas - Taman Universiti - Kulai. It started at 1:00 p.m. and I managed to complete the mission by 4.00 p.m.

ATTENDING PUAN HAJAH MARIAM'S SON'S WEDDING RECEPTION

27th APRIL 2019 ~ Puan Hajah Mariam Shahrom hosted another wedding reception again today and this this time for his son. This was the second reception I attended and it was held in TNB Hall in Kempas. Puan Hajah Mariam once taught in SMK Taman Universiti, most probably in the 90's. She is now teaching in SMK Gelang Patah.

I went right after the Poetry Competition in SMK Convent and was glad to see two other English teachers whom I know. So I had no issue of the need to chat to strangers.

There were no photo of me with the bride and groom as they are not my ex-students.

This should be the VERY last wedding reception attended before the arrival of the month of Ramadhan.

ATTENDING PUAN HJH. MARIAM'S DAUGHTER'S WEDDING RECEPTION

21st APRIL 2018 ~ I attended a wedding reception thrown by Pn. Hjh. Mariam Shahrom, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, who was there earlier in the 90's before moving to another school. She taught Bahasa Melayu when in SMKTUN and she is the Senior Assistant at SMK Gelang Patah. The wedding reception was held at TNB Hall in Kempas.

I met an ex-student whom I taught in my English tuition class, Miss Amira of SM Islam Hidayah, when she was in form 3 and 4 (in 2007 & 2008 if I am not mistaken). Amira was accompanying her mom who is also a teacher (a Principal actually now) and she is now practicing Law in Kuala Lumpur.

A wedding reception is always a venue for reunion and I am sure there will be more to come.

Saturday, 21st February ~ Many people were holding wedding receptions during the long Chinese New Year weekends and I had four to attend in one day. I am quite sure I am fatter by now and here are some highlight of the events attended.

The wedding of Mr. Mohamad Shafiq Suhaimi & Ms. Nor Liyana Mohammad Khan

an ex-student whom I only taught English in a tuition class in SMK Kempas when he was in form 3 in the year 2002

but we are still keeping in touch and had travelled to Hong Kong together in 2012.
