ATTENDING NUR EMILLIDA'S WEDDING RECEPTION

29th APRIL 2017 ~ I was invited to attend a wedding reception of an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, Miss Nur Emillida Yusoff at her house in Taman Sri Pulai Perdana. If I am not mistaken, she is from SPM batch 2003, and she is now a teacher teaching in SMK Tun Syed Nasir Ismail. I used to meet her when we went judging for district level marching competition.

I was there quite late as I went to attend a hi-tea gathering right before that, so I did not meet many ex-students.

Thanks for inviting, Ms. Emy. I wish both of you a lifetime of happiness together and a love that grows stronger with each passing day.

ANGKLUNG PERFORMANCE FOR UTMSPACE DEAN'S LIST AWARD CEREMONY [PART 2]

waiting for the arrival of VIP
This time, we did not perform on stage as the stage was quite small to accommodate all the 16 of us. So we chose to stand at corner in front of the hall. No stage meant there was no stage fright and the angklung players were more relaxed.

We played a short song "Dia Datang" upon the arrival of the VIPs. Then we continued playing two more songs, "My Heart Will Go On" and a new number, "Kopi Dangdut".

We then performed a few songs while all the guests and award recipients (and their accompanying family members were eating). This time it was special as we were placed right on the first floor of the building (something like a balcony) overlooking the hall. It felt like conducting an orchestra in a huge theatre hall.

The other songs presented were "Selamat Tinggal Bungaku", "Autumn Leaves", "Ayam Den Lapeh", "Tajuk Johor" and "Terukir di Bintang."

find me if you can

living in a world full of hyperactive boys *sigh*

That should be a good experience for everyone in the group who had started practising as early as the first week of January. I am hoping that everyone could make it for any future performance.

ANGKLUNG PERFORMANCE FOR UTMSPACE DEAN'S LIST AWARD CEREMONY [PART 1]

SMK Taman Universiti's Angklung Group was invited (again) to perform for the Dean's List Award Ceremony in conjunctions with UTM 58th Convocation. This time the event was held at Pulai Spring Golf Resort which is just near the school.

We were there as early as 10:00 a.m. for the rehearsal session. We were wearing our group's official t-shirt for the first time today.

I am actually feeling sleepy and tired now and will need to get my beauty sleep real soon, so we will just see some photos during the rehearsal/practice session.

More detailed report coming your way, real soon.

KYOTO RAILWAY MUSEUM - PART ONE

19th MARCH 2017 ~ We went to this latest attraction in Kyoto - The Railway Museum. This was the place people could see all the trains of different generations under one roof, hence the very huge compound.

There was a very big crowd and long queue to buy the tickets. We were unfortunately there while the Japanese were having long weekends. The museum was just opened to the public in April last year so this could be one reason why the locals were still flocking at this site. I was quite sure only Mr. Syafiq and I were the only Malaysians were there at that time. I don't think Malaysians would come here for their holiday in the first place.

We could already see real trains stationed in their "docks" which were designed like a real train station. We had already spent a lot of time here even before entering the main exhibition hall.

NEXT POST: the visit inside the main exhibition building.
