STATE LEVEL CHESS TOURNAMENT - PART THREE
22nd February 2014 ~ On the third day of the tournament, there were only two rounds remaining. And after that, the result was announced during the prize-giving ceremony. That was the end of the chess season this year. Everybody parted their own ways and hoped to see each other again in the year 2015.
We won some, we lost some so we did not do that well like previous years this time but a few players won medals and would go for the next round for state players selection. I guess until we meet again next year, "Majulah Sukan Untuk Negara". [translate: developing sports for the country.]

STATE LEVEL CHESS TOURNAMENT - PART TWO
21st February 2014 ~ There were 3 matches on Friday. Other than chess competitions in the hall, Miss Quek, an ex-colleague who was the Chess Club teacher of SMKTUN and also a chaperon of the JB team for three years, came visiting. She is now teaching in Batu Pahat. Other than that, there was a birthday celebration in the boys' homestay. Lastly, I managed to meet up with another ex-colleague who is also now teaching and residing in Batu Pahat, Mr. Mohd. Faris, for supper.

STATE LEVEL CHESS TOURNAMENT 2014 - PART ONE
13th February 2014 ~ The Johor Bahru Chess Team which comprised of 36 players from 6 different categories and 10 teachers were at ADTEC (Advanced Technology Training Centre) Batu Pahat for state level competition. The team arrived earlier but the game only started at about 2:15 p.m. and the second round ended at 6:45 p.m.
There were only two games on the first day of competition but with the travelling and the hot weather, it was quite tiring actually for everybody. There were seven games for the players to compete.
