WAITING FOR THE SUNSET AT MANILA BAY WALK - PART TWO

and you complained you didn't have a soft mattress,
or the air-conditioner wasn't working
28th SEPTEMBER 2017 ~ Basically what we did was just walking from one end to the other, observing the surroundings as well as the people around us - while waiting for the sunset.

the sunset is here!

There are a lot of statues of the past leaders of the Philippines in this area. The statues are actually everywhere in the city.

Beneath the statue, there was actually a man lying down with his belongings. He looked like a homeless person. I was trying hard not to get him in the frame. *so sad*

I should have tried this.

The sun has disappeared.

The sun then disappeared behind the clouds and the sky grew darker. We had to leave Manila Bay Walk and its people, and made our way to the last attraction to conclude our exploration of our first day in Manila.

WAITING FOR THE SUNSET AT MANILA BAY WALK - PART ONE

28th SEPTEMBER 2017 ~ After  exploring a bit the Business District of Makati, we made our way to one of the most popular spots among the locals and foreigners alike - the Manila Bay Walk. When we arrived, I immediately saw the vast contrast between what I had seen at the mall earlier and everything else here. We found the other side of Manila. People just hang out in their old shirts and dresses, the place was a bit dirty but they were all still looked happy.

There were people walking, jogging or just sitting there enjoying the view or observing other people. Along the walkway, there were stalls and small stations offering massage service. At first I saw only sign boards for foot massage but later there was even a shirtless man lying face down and was given a body massage and every passerby could watch. That must not be something unusual here.

we finally found the only sign of "MANILA"

We were there at about 5:00 p.m. but that should be like 6:00 p.m. in Malaysia. (Manila and Kuala Lumpur share the same time zone surprisingly even though geographically Manila is situated on a different longitude which is further to the east).
