MY MUAR GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - 434 COFFEE SHOP REVISITED

23rd AUGUST 2019 ~ Who needs Starbucks when there is Sai Kee 434 Coffee Shop in town? This should be like a must-visit when in Muar and should be my third time here. Other than coffee, you could also get other food. This time I tried its Mee Bandung, a signature dish of Muar. The food was alright but it would be better if seafood is added, just like its original recipe.

If you are at lost, not knowing what to bring back home from Muar, this place will have the answer for you. They are selling 434 Coffee, in all varieties - just the coffee powder, or coffee bags, 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 coffee, white coffee and more. Another food item that I love is its bread and butter that is toasted and becomes like cookies. Love to eat it by dipping it in hot drinks like tea or coffee - just heaven.

I will sure go there again when I am in Muar in the future.

PERFORMING FRIDAY PRAYER AT SULTAN ISMAIL MOSQUE, MUAR

23rd AUGUST 2019 ~ I used to see this mosque from the other side of the river but on this very day, I was finally here to perform my Friday prayer.

I was first greeted and welcomed by a cat at the entrance.

The hall inside the mosque was huge. Hence, you should not worry if you arrive late for your Friday prayer. There must always be some space for you to squeeze in.

I decided to linger a bit longer once the prayer was done so I could explore the area.

Do you know that this mosque is actually a replica of Sultan Ibrahim Mosque which is located at the other side of Muar River? Nevertheless, the new structure is bigger and higher.

One place you could stop by in Muar especially when you are looking for a place to perform your prayer. Hope there will be another opportunity to come back here.

THE SECOND BOWLING TOURNAMENT FOR THE TEACHERS AND STAFF FOR 2019

The second bowling tournament for SMK Dato Jaafar's teachers and staff were held on 31st July 2019 at Pelangi Leisure Mall. It was either people had so much fun during the first time they wanted to play again or some people were unhappy they lost so they wanted a rematch. As for my group members and I, we just wanted to wear our pink shirts again.

Members of the pink house as expected did not win but we did not go home empty-handed.

It was one fun afternoon. We should have this kind of activity once in a while, just to forget the piling work at school, and at home as well.

BOYS' NIGHT OUT FOR FRIED CHICKEN AND ABC

7th AUGUST 2019 ~ This was one rare occasion when colleagues from school (SMK Dato Jaafar), comprising of the young ones and the young at hearts, went out for a gastronomic adventure. The first venue where we gathered at 9.00 p.m. was "Ayam Goreng OK" [translate: OK fried chicken] at Kampung Melayu. This fried chicken is actually quite popular but this should be my very first time there despite the fact the place is quite near to my house.

The chicken was fried and served hot, out from the boiling oil into the plates. So how did I find OK fried chicken? It was OK to me but would not be something I fancy.

The fried chicken session was done by 10.00 p.m. and the night was still early so we adjourned to our next eating spot just a stone's throw away which was Murtabak Kampung Melayu. We were not there for popular murtabak but to quench our thirst with the Air Batu Campur, or abbreviated as ABC [translate: shaved ice].

We had to end the gathering as it was getting late and we had to go to school early the next morning.

I just wonder when will this session be repeated in the future?
