POTLUCK BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS

A well-known chef is demonstrating his skills in frying something in the staff room while being observed by a Living Skills teacher. Great performance.

potluck - (American English) a meal in which everyone who is invited brings something to eat.[Longman Online Dictionary]

Life is short, so enjoy it while it lasts. Another potluck in the staff room to celebrate the coming school holidays. But this time, we have a "live" cooking session, which adds to the real definition of potluck as well as the excitement of savouring the Westen-themed food. Eat, drink and be merry. Happy holidays to all, put all the schoolwork behind and this applies to the teachers only.

YET ANOTHER COURSE

I was in Melaka from 21-23rd May for another professionalism course for Afternoon Senior Assistant (formerly known as Afternoon Supervisor). It was good because we had the chance to be away from school for 3 days, the food was tasty and we had more time to chat with each other. But all good things must come to an end. When are they going to send us to other places like Langkawi or Kuching?

Welcome to MITC Ancasa Hotel Melaka

TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION IN SCHOOL

Love them or hate them, they are just everywhere...

Teacher's Day was celebrated on a Monday, 18th May this year. The same old routine was being repeated, wish for once we would have something different. Nevertheless, it was truly an enjoyable day. There was no need to enter class or to scold people and frankly speaking, the students' performances were fun and entertaining. 'Tis the time to be jolly, so let's see some happy faces in school.

Thanks to everyone who had made this day a memorable one. Those who were present, the well-wishers, entertainers and last but not least, the present-givers, I love you all. Really, it's the thought that counts. I am in a real need to buy a new display cabinet for my teacher's day's gifts.

I am famous!

16th MAY IS HERE AGAIN!

Happy 16th teacher's day to me and to other teachers out there. Thank you to the short messaging service, messages started coming in as early as yesterday. As I have nothing much to do, I am now making a statistical analysis of the teacher's day messages I received this year, so as to make my blog sound more scientific.

  • messages sent by ex-students: 22
  • messages sent by students: 11
  • messages sent by teachers: 12
  • messages sent by others: 2
The conclusion that can be drawn here is: (1) You are appreciated more by your ex-es. That is life. Don't people say they appreciate things more when they are gone? (2) Teachers need to send greetings to each other more because who else will appreciate you other than the people who understand you. (3) Other people just don't give a damn. By the way, I don't send teacher's day messages, I just replied to all the messages received from people I know. Messages from unidentified sources are not analyzed so as to make the result of this study more valid. In other words, I am famous.
While other teachers were enjoying themselves at home or somewhere else, my friends and I were stuck in UTM enjoying ourselves in a training session held by the school. Happy teacher's day again, especially to my friends of the dying breed.

IT'S JUST ME!

Seriously, it is just me. Just another teacher whom you know, or you do not know, or you have forgotten. So I have decided to start my own blog, to jump on the bandwagon, to stay savvy. However, how much can I blog? I am just another teacher. Let's just see.
