BLOGGING FROM ISTANBUL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

I am here in Istanbul International Airport, Turkiye, waiting for my flight to take me home in about 3½ hours. I will only get to know which gate I should go to at 11:55 p.m. This is such a huge airport and I still could not get over the horror of running from one get to another when we were on our transit to Milan last week.
Guess this should be the end of the one week trip to Europe. I still have time to window shop before going to the designated gate.

BLOGGING FROM THE ACCOMMODATION IN DOLOMITES AREA IN ITALY

My Europe trip, specifically to Italy and Austria, is about to come to its end. We will be leaving the Dolomites area for Milan, and will fly to Istanbul to transit. Praying for good weather and a smooth trip back home.

BLOGGING FROM MILAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The connecting flight from Istanbul finally touched down at Milan International Airport, Italy, at about 6.00 p.m. local time. However, the group members' baggage did not come out from the carousel. The reason: the Turkish Air flight from Kuala Lumpur was delayed for one hour, hence they might not be able to get our bags transferred into the waiting connecting flight to Milan.

There was the drama as we were instructed to run to the waiting vessel at the airport in Istanbul as soon as we got out from the plane. It was just like an episode from the reality TV Show The Amazing Race.

What a way to start the adventure.

BLOGGING FROM KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Arrived at KLIA International Airport Terminal 1 at 4:30 a.m. Another journey is about to begin.
Had to get coffee [and kaya toast] while waiting for other group members to arrive.
Just got to know my flight is delayed. Pray it won't delay for too long as there is another connecting flight to catch.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S DAUGHTER

An ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar, Puan Radziah Hasan, held the first wedding reception for her daughter, the first event for the family. It was done at Asma'ul Husna Mosque in Bandar Uda Utama.

As expected, I met a few other ex-colleagues as well as teacher friends there.

Congratulations to Puan Radziah on receiving a new member into the family. Hopefully she will not forget to invite me again for other similar events in the future.

VISITING THE STATE MUSEUM OF NEGERI SEMBILAN - PART 2

22nd SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ Near the main museum building, there were two smaller buildings which were a Negeri Sembilan traditional house and Istana Ampang Tinggi, an old palace.

The buildings were made of solid wood which were still in good condition. Generally, visitors could walk around the area as well as get into the buildings.

There was not much to see inside, except admiring the great architecture of people of the past.

The place was left unattended, There was no staff on duty so visitors had to explore on their own. Inside the buildings was very dark actually and the only source of light was from the window which was not enough to light up the rooms. Getting up and down the staircases, which were more like ladders, was actually dangerous and there should be officers supervising or at least, observing people, in case of emergency.

I spent about one hour and a half there and it was a good museum. This could be an option of a place you could visit when you are in Seremban.

VISITING NEGERI SEMBILAN STATE MUSEUM - PART 1

22nd SEPTEMBER 2024   ~ To make up for the disappointment for the closure of Istana Lama Seri Menanti because of renovation work the day before [READ HERE], I adjourned to Negeri Sembilan State Museum in Seremban.

There were not many people at the museum that Sunday afternoon so I could freely roam the area, observe the exhibition and take as many photos as possible. Entrance was free of charge and my first impression was the museum had been taken care of quite well.

There were two main permanent exhibition halls and one thematic gallery in conjunction of the Independence month of the nation.

The beautiful design of the museum building which was of the Minangkabau architecture was something visitors could admire. There were also other traditional buildings nearby in the same compound that could be visited.
