VISITING KOBE WAR MEMORIAL MARITIME MUSEUM

22nd JULY 2024    ~ According to the original itinerary, I should have flown home today. Unfortunately, my flight was cancelled and rescheduled to the next day, 23rd July. So here I was in Kobe War Memorial Museum, trying to make the most of my time here.

I was the only visitor to the museum that morning.

I just found out that everything in the museum was in Japanese. So I just had to see the displays and exhibits, and make my own inference.

Even though it was War Memorial Museum, the stress was not put on war. You could see more display of the warships and vessels that were involved in the war of the past.

I enjoyed my stay in the museum as I had the museum all to myself, before moving to another museum right after.

THE FIRST 7-ELEVEN VISIT IN PAKBARA

21ST NOVEMBER    ~ One of the activities done by Malaysians visiting Thailand was shopping at 7-Eleven convenient stores there. So we jumped onto the bandwagon and entered the first 7-Eleven Store we saw near our hotel.

One of the popular sections was the halal products section.

The reasons for such activities: there were products you could only get in Thailand, or the items were sold at cheaper prices.

I got myself two food items: the [halal] beef burger that was not available in Malaysia and Meiji Banana Milk that was cheaper.

I went back to the store at about 10:30 p.m. to buy this balm as I was experiencing blocked nose that made breathing difficult. And those were all that I bought during my stay there.

There would be other visits to other 7-Eleven stores during our 4-day stay in southern Thailand.

THE BREAKFAST DATE WITH AN EX-STUDENT AT KOPI LOCO

A breakfast date was set with an ex-student [of SMK Taman Universiti], Mr. Mohd. Firdaos, today. We used to meet up during lunch break but that would not be possible now as he is currently working in Pontian.

The chosen venue was Kopi Loco located in Taman Anggerik Emas, which was just beside Taman Impian Emas. It was my first time in this modern [Chinese] kopitiam which means coffee shop. I just got to know the name of the area is Taman Anggerik Emas.

We were there at 8:30 a.m. and there were not many people who came to get breakfast. For one thing, the place was spacious and it was a pleasant experience dining in.

The cashew nuts from Hatyai were successfully passed to him over breakfast. We now have to figure out what would be the best time to meet up again after this.
