EID DIARY: 5TH SYAWAL 1446H

The group that arrived for Eid visit this afternoon comprised of six ex-students of SMK Dato' Jaafar of SPM 2022 batch.

It was their first time visiting. In fact, they were the first ex-students of the particular school who came for Eid. I taught them English, like 5 years ago. Five out six are still studying while one has already worked.

For my record so I could remember their names: [standing from left to right] Aiman, Aqasha, Putra, Daniel [sitting left to right] Zhafran, you-know-who, Adam.

Hopefully this would not be their last Eid visit to my place. I am always happy to get to see my ex-students any time.

EID DIARY: 4TH SYAWAL 1446H

People who came to visit on the fourth day of Eid were my cousin, Tuan Haji Senan Berahim, his wife, two daughters and two grandchildren. He is one of the regulars who still visit. I must say not many of my relatives come during Eid after both my parents have passed away.

There are still many days to go for the Eid visiting activities so there might be other relatives who would be coming.

THE PARCEL THAT ARRIVED ON THE THIRD DAY OF EVE

A parcel arrived at my doorstep on the third day of Eid ul-Fitr. There was, however, no sign of who the sender was so I had to post a message asking the person to own up for his/her good deed.

Fortunately someone immediately confessed and I was happy to get to know who the person was. Thank you to Puan Nurhanim Hassan [a member of the UPM TESL class of 1993] for couriering me the cake all the way from Penang. Only Allah may repay your generosity.

Now I got to eat my cake and have it, not figuratively speaking, as it is a big one.

EID DIARY: 3RD SYAWAL 1446H

Two ex-students of SMK Taman Universiti who are siblings came visiting. Mr. Sharmin Mazlan and Mr. Sharudin Mazlan were here to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr with their mother, wife, chlidren and niece. They are also one of the regular groups who come to visit during the festive season. This should be the best time as the two brothers are working in Kuala Lumpur and Segamat, respectively.

Thanks for coming and I hope to see them for many more Eid in the future.

RAMADHAN IS THE MONTH OF GIVING - PART 3

This is a special post to express my gratitude and appreciation to my ex-colleagues of SMK Dato' Jaafar who had given me Eid goodies before the school break.

They are:
[1] Puan Wong Minh Chjiat Isabelle
[2] Puan Jothy Mukunda Menon
[3] Puan Pushpalatha TP Thayaman
[4] Puan Saleha Salleh
[5] Puan Sim Poh Mun
[6] Encik Mohd. Shafiq Jaafar

I have been retired for more than a year already and I am truly touched by my friends' generosity.

Only God may repay your kindness and good deeds.

EID DIARY: 2ND SYAWAL 1446H

The one and only group that came visiting today was the family of the late Tuan Haji Ismail Khamis. They had been coming to my place since all the three children [out of six] were still in school [i.e. SMK Taman Universiti] and the tradition had been kept up until now.

Only one ex-student and his family were missing this time as he might be either celebrating Eid with his in-law's family or had to be on duty at the hospital.

Thank your Mr. Harith, Mr. Nurul Naziha [and her husband, Mr. Hussein who is also an ex-student of the same school], the mother, their younger sister and brothers, as well their spouses and children, for coming. Hope to see you all again for many more years to come.
