THE ART EXHIBITION AT GRAND DORSETT HOTEL, SUBANG JAYA

During my stay at Grand Dorsett Hotel in Subang Jaya [READ HERE], to my delight, I found out there was a free art exhibition going on at the foyer of the building.

The featured painter was Mahsuri Shark.

"Mahsuri Shark" likely refers to Mahsuri Sharkawi, a Malaysian digital artist and former telecommunications executive who now runs the MahsuriShark Gallery. Her work is vibrant, inspired by emotion and nature, and has been featured in various exhibitions, often incorporating digital elements like augmented reality (AR). The "Mahsuri Shark Gallery" showcases her art alongside other artists like Anaz K and Zara Z.

I am always envious of people who can draw and paint. Wish I could do the same, but I don't think that is going to happen.

This post is a tribute to the artist for her artistic talent. This is not in any way for commercial purposes, except for educational source. May young people who are doing art in school will be inspired by her great work.

THE BUFFET DINNER AT GRAND DORSETT HOTEL, SUBANG JAYA

I decided to take the buffet breakfast package at Grand Dorsett Hotel in Subang Jaya [READ HERE]. One reason: I was not sure whether it would be convenient to get food outside as it was my first time staying there.

A political party was having some sort of a course in the same place. Because of that, the dining hall was very crowded on the first morning I was there.

MY REVIEW: the buffet spread was satisfactory except on the second day, it was the same menu again for breakfast. *SIGH* For one thing, the add on price for the meal was not that high so it was alright.

THE FIRST TIME STAYING AT GRAND DORSETT, SUBANG JAYA

I stayed at Grand Dorsett Hotel Subang from the 20th - 22nd November, 2025 for the first time. I used to stay in Empire Hotel in Subang Jaya but the hotel had ceased operation by the end of August and I had to find another accommodation [READ HERE]. I, as usual, had to attend a wedding reception of a schoolmate's daughter in Kuala Lumpur city [READ HERE and HERE].

My first impression of the hotel: It looked grand as the name suggested, huge and with beautiful interior decoration, even though it was a bit old.

There was a row of shops opposite the hotel, mostly comprised of eating shops, which should be good news. I even took its buffet breakfast this time [READ HERE].

There was an art exhibition at the hotel, featuring a local artist, Mahsuri Shark, when I was there and that made me happy [READ HERE].
This place could be one place I would stay if I need to go to Kuala Lumpur.
