THERE IS ALWAYS A THIRD TIME AT ORIENTAL KOPI IN SENAI AIRPORT

10th JANUARY 2026    ~ The reason Oriental Kopi was visited again:
[1] I arrived at Senai Airport at 5:45 a.m. and my flight was scheduled at 8:20 a.m. I needed to kill time with a beneficial activity.
[2] At this hour, there was no queue to get into this popular restaurant.

I had the same coffee, Kaya Toast and half-boiled eggs for my early breakfast, like what I had had during my first and second visit at this place.

This time, however, the service was much faster than the last time I came [READ HERE]. I wonder if the management read my review of the restaurant in my blog.

THERE IS ALWAYS A SECOND TIME AT ORIENTAL KOPI IN SENAI AIRPORT

21st DECEMBER 2025 ~ I was back at Senai International Airport and it was customary to get early breakfast when I arrived at 5:00 in the morning. I decided to go into Oriental Kopi again as this was the only time I did not have to stand in a long queue outside.

Surprisingly, despite the fact that there was no crowd, the service was quite slow. I only ordered toasts, which was not something complicated to prepare and yet I still had to wait for quite some time. I had already finished my toasts and half-boiled eggs and then only my tea arrived.

Guess I have to go there again to see whether they could improve the service.

THERE IS ALWAYS A SECOND TIME - AT ORIENTAL KOPI

6TH DECEMBER 2025 ~ After arriving at Senai International Airport at 5:15 a.m. and my flight to Kuala Lumpur was at 7:00 a.m., the best thing to do was to get breakfast. I saw finally there was no queue outside Oriental Kopi Restaurant so I happily marched into the dining area.

This was my second time at this popular restaurant. The first one was at another branch in Paradigm Mall. [READ HERE]

I had the usual coffee, half-boiled eggs and Kaya [coconut jam] toasts.

I ate definitely the same thing at the other two nearby cafes in the airport, and guess what? It was cheaper in Oriental Kopi. One strong factor that would make me come back here again before flying.

THE COFFEE SESSION WITH AN EX-STUDENT AT ORIENTAL COFFEE, PARADIGM MALL

Mr. Aqil Muhammad Nasir, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, who is now working and residing in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor, texted me when he was back home in Johor Bahru for a short break. A coffee date was instantaneously set that afternoon after Friday Prayer at Paradigm Mall.

the iconic Portuguese Egg Tart

As we both wanted to get something light, Mr. Aqil suggested Oriental Kopi, one popular restaurant with kopitiam [old Chinese coffee shop] vibe. It was my very first time visiting this restaurant as most of the time, there were always long queues outside which I would not join in.

The last time we met was back in 2022, at an ex-student's wedding in Kulai [READ HERE]. The last time we went on a date was 2020, in the same mall but different eating place [READ HERE].

We had to say our "goodbyes" as it was approaching 5:00 p.m. and I needed to avoid the traffic jam to get home as people were finishing work at that time. We definitely need to see each other again as there are just too many things to talk about. I might contact him when I am on my short weekends getaway to Kuala Lumpur/Selangor one day.
