MUSEUM OF WELLINGTON CITY AND SEA

This was the very last museum visited when I was in Wellington. It was much smaller if compared to Te Papa but this premise was listed as one of the top 50 best museums in the world. I guess size doesn't matter. It focused more on the history of Wellington as a sea port, the arrival of the foreigner and how the city had developed ever since.

I had more photographs of myself taken here, thanks to Mr. Hasbi, a Malaysian student whom I got to know on cyberspace and had kindly offered to take me around and help me get (real) food for lunch and dinner. We went to the Burgerfuel restaurant where you could get specially made halal meal upon request. How cool is that?

LADY NORFOLK ROSE GARDEN

the rose garden seen from a higher level

To conclude my tour to Wellington Botanic Garden was the visit to Lady Norfolk Rose Garden that was situated at the foot of the hill. It sure was a major attraction as busloads of tourists could be seen roaming around the garden, either taking photos of themselves with the flowers or just the flowers. Although I had been to the rose garden in Palmerston North which was much bigger than this, I was still impressed with the beauty of the roses.

I could not stay that long there as it was getting hotter - and I had promised to see someone right after that. And I came across this "Peace Garden" which was located just across the entrance to Lady Norfolk Rose Garden. There was a pond with a small waterfall (which could be an artificial one) and should symbolize something, hence the name. Please google about it on your own.

THE FLOWERS OF WELLINGTON BOTANIC GARDEN

"I like this place and could willingly
waste my time in it."

~ William Shakespeare ~

Believe me, when I was at the Botanic Garden, there were also other people who went around the place taking photographs of the flowers. I never walked alone.

I should have taken horticulture, or landscape, or botany, when I was in college long time ago. The other options would either be veterinary science or zoology. *sigh*

ATTENDING HAZIZUL'S WEDDING

4th January ~ I went to attend Mr. Hazizul's wedding today held at Kangkar Pulai Community Hall today. He was the last of the "movie-goers gang" to tie knot but he was confident enough that the activity will still continue on.

meeting a long-lost ex-student, Ms. Aliya

Congratulations to both Mr. and Mrs. Hazizul and may your marriage be filled with joy and happiness, always.
