THE 12TH DAY OF EID 1435H

Another group of ex-students from SPM batch 2010 came visiting for Eid. As usual they came after 10 which I did not mind at all. For one thing, they had the whole house to their own as these 12 big boys made quite a lot of noise, in a good way.

Majority of them are still studying at higher learning institutions while a few others had just graduated or are currently working. I am hoping to see them for many more Eids to come.

For the time being, I am still waiting for more pics to be uploaded so I could publish them in my blog.

And I almost forgot that I went to attend an open house after Friday prayer organized by a colleague, Puan Noraliza Mazni. The event was actually done in the morning but we had an in-house training session in school for English teachers. Puan Noraliza was kind enough to let me come in the afternoon when there were only two other colleagues around. So that was my very first open house for Eid this year. That should be good news - I could stay slim after the fasting session.

THE 10TH DAY OF EID 1435H

Two ex-students from SPM batch 2012 came visiting this evening and they had to come after 10:00 p.m. as I had just finished my class at about that time. 

Mr. Izuddin, the one in red, is now studying in Universiti Malaysia Pahang while Mr. Irham is studying in one of the universities in Medan, Indonesia. I better start googling for tourists' attractions in Medan after this. :)

THE 8TH DAY OF EID 1435H

This was my very first house of a friend visited for Eid this year and I was the first visitor to their home in Mutiara Rini for the Eid celebration. I went there right after school in the evening. Actually I needed to get a document from Mr. Khir who is the husband of Puan Mazzelina, so it would be best to kill two birds with one stone. P.S. I really loved the fresh from the pan "keropok lekor" (something like fish cake) and kiwi fruit which reminded me of my stay in New Zealand last December. :)

They are both teachers and I just realized that most of the topics and themes of discussion that we had were all about school. *sigh* I need to visit someone's house who is not a teacher after this. Wait, do I have friends who are not teachers? *double sighs*

THE 7TH DAY OF EID 1435H

I welcomed another group of students from SPM batch 2008. They do no belong to a single category - someone has started working in the arm force, people who are still studying, someone who has just finished studying and someone who is about to quit her job to further her studies.

They arrived quite late, which was after 10:00 p.m. so they could not stay that long for more news updates. I am not sure whether there will be more meeting like this until the next Eid, which means we have to wait at least for one more year to see each other again.

THE 6TH DAY OF EID 1435H

Two groups of ex-students came visiting today. The first one was a batch of 10 students from SPM 2008. Some are still studying and maybe a few have already completed their tertiary education, I think. This is another group who have become frequent well-wishers, as early as when they were still in form 2 i.e. 14 years old.

The other group which was here at the same time, was from SPM batch 2010. And for two of group members, it was their first visit to my house. Well, it is better late than never.

So those were all the ex-students who have managed to pay me a visit during the first week of Eid. School will start again and people will go back to work already. There are still people who are not here yet and I am hoping to see them soon.

THE 5TH DAY OF EID 1435H

There were two groups who came visiting today. The first was my ex-students from SPM batch 2012. All of them are now studying in institutions of higher learning and their one week Eid break should be ending real soon. 

The next one was the second half of the bigger group from SPM batch 2006. The first half came yesterday (what a relief) so it was easier to manage and entertain people.

These are some of the regular visitors that I have every year and I am glad that they still make it a point to still come even though they have already left school. I am yet to see for how long will this tradition continue.

THE 4TH DAY OF EID 1435H

In the morning, I had some sort of a mini reunion of the Fourth Collegians (now known as "Kolej Canselor") from UPM. First, Puan Farah Sabina, an old TESL coursemate, and her husband, who was also from Fourth Residential College, arrived with their children. 

About half an hour later, our College Manager (at that time), En. Mohd. Mustafa Abu Talib Jailani (what a long name) came for the first time with his family. We recently discovered En. Mustafa has a relative who stays nearby my house, and that has made the Eid visit possible.

We seldom had the chance to meet as they are residing in Seremban and Kuala Lumpur I am glad that we still have the opportunity to see each other, at least once in a while.

In the afternoon, two ex-students, Mr. Mohd, Assadiq and Ms. Assafinas, siblings, arrived at my doorsteps. Assadiq is from SPM batch 2008 while her sister is from batch 2012. Hopefully I will not forget the date when I could see them again in about 2 weeks time.

At about 9:00 p.m., a group of ex-students from SPM batch 2006 were here. Many, many years ago, these people would together took a bus from Taman Universiti to Larkin bus terminal and from there, came to my house by taxis. Now almost everyone drives but long live the memory of the past. 

The last visitors of the day were Puan Zainab Mohamed, a colleague, and her family. She is also one of the regulars and had started coming for Eid at a time when all the boys were still very young who would be happily (and secretly) feeding my hamsters with cookies.

With two more days before school resumes its session, will there be more people coming? That we will have to wait and see.
