THE REGULAR EATING OUT SESSION WITH A REGULAR EX-STUDENT CONTINUED

Because of the recent Movement Control Order due to the pandemic, our eating out session was discontinued and today it was resumed as planned. We decided to meet up at Paradigm Mall, the venue which was the most convenient for both of us.

We opted for Vivo Restaurant and we realized we had ordered too much food when it was served on the table. Consequently, we decided just to pack the Chicken Chop and bring home.

Thanks Mr. Mohd. Nazafee, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, for the company. I seem to be seeing less and less ex-students these days. Guess that happens once every one has their clipped wings freed to fly everywhere.

MAKING A RETURN TRIP TO SUNGAI MELAYU FOR ITS ASAM PEDAS

We made a return trip to Asam Pedas Sungai Melayu Restaurant today as planned. We were here a few weeks ago but were disappointed to discover the place was closed when we arrived. Determination to get Asam Pedas took us here again today at about 3:00 p.m. There were still many people having their lunch but the good news was that they were finishing their meal so we successfully secured a table for two.

Other than the scrumptious meal, we always enjoyed the surroundings. I had been here a few times but only today I walked down to the jetty. Hoping to go on the boat tour one of these days, most probably with my ex-schoolmate [of SMS Muar], Mr. Mohd. Razib Noordin.

OF SUPPER AND AN INVITATION CARD

A date was set with Mr. Suhaizie Jasmani [SMKTUN SPM batch 2006] for a supper dinner/session but most importantly the hand over of his wedding invitation card. The eating place chosen was The Pinggan Cafe, which was not that far from my house.

There were three other ex-students of the batch joining in the meeting - the more the merrier.

One more ex-student settling down and one less people to ask me out for coffee session after this it seemed. Still, I am looking forward to attending the big event in two weeks' time.

RUMAH UDANG DISCOVERED

8th December 2021 ~ A few colleagues [of SMK Dato' Jaafar] went to have dinner at Rumah Udang in Kampung Melayu. I decided to join them even though I had had dinner at home earlier. This eating place was near to my place but that should be a new discovery for me.

There seemed to be a variety of interesting food on the menu so I think I need to come back here one day with other people.

I chose to get something light, for supper supposedly, and the lightest food they had was Keropok Lekor.

This should be the last eating out session with my colleagues this year as end of year school holiday starts on Friday. I believe there should be more similar sessions like this next year.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL...

My colleague and I went to visit another colleague who had just lost her daughter this morning. By the time we left the cemetery, it was already lunch time. As this Morso Restaurant was just in the vicinity, Mr. Amirulhakim and I decided to stop by as the school canteen would already be closed by time we got back there.

There were other four diners in the restaurant so we managed to get our lamb chop real quick. Food was good and lunch was over in less than half an hour. It was my third time at this eating place and I am glad I had introduced this place to Mr. Amirulhakim Mahfudz who is also an avid gastronomic adventurer. I am about to see whether he would be coming back to Morso again after this or not.

STEAMBOAT SESSION TO BID FAREWELL TO A COLLEAGUE

1st DECEMBER 2021 ~ Mr. Adnan Shamsuddin got transferred from SMK Dato' Jaafar to English College for the same post, i.e. the Senior Assistant of Students' Affair -- less than one year as a teacher in SDJ.

The male teachers and staff decided to bid him a proper farewell like we used to do but it had to be done a bit late because of Movement Control Order [MCO]. The venue chosen was Johor Steamboat in Adda Heights where eat-all-you-can was possible.

It was not even a weekend and the place was very crowded with people dining in. Definitely not the place to go for people people who strictly observe the C-19 SOP.

The party had to disperse by 10:00 p.m. as the next day was a working day.

Wishing Mr. Adnan the best of luck at his new school and who knows, one day he might come back to SDJ as the Principal.

But how?

Thanks Puan Wan Aisyah Haris for sending me the pic all the way from KL.
