THE MUST-VISIT PLACE IN KUNDASANG - DESA DAIRY FARM

27TH FEBRUARY 2023   ~ It was still raining when we arrived in Kundasang but we still had to go with the plan. The entrance tickets to Desa Dairy Farm had been bought earlier online and there was already a queue of vehicles forming at the gate when we arrived.

It was unfortunate as the weather was unkind. Consequently, every visitor had to stay indoor at the farm.

People were crowding the glass window where they could observe the cows being milked mechanically. Everyone looked curious and interested but they had no other activities to do in the heavy rain outside actually. Social distancing was a non-existence here.

Despite the rain, we went to this barn nearby where people could feed the calves with either grass or milk [and they had to pay for the food].

the praying room is here

In the other section, people could see the packaging process of the fresh milk.

The visit to Desa Dairy Farm would not be complete without buying its signature milk gelato and it was tasty.

I did not get to be photographed with cows and mountains in the background, as if I was in New Zealand, like what other people had done but it was alright. There will be a next time, hopefully.

THE ANNUAL EID PRESENT FROM EX-COLLEAGUES

A million thanks to my Chinese ex-colleagues of SMK Taman Universiti for the annual Eid present delivered to my house this afternoon. A customary kind gesture that still happens every year without fail even though we have already been physically separated for 8 years.

Friendship remains and never can end.

BRUNCHING AT THE TEA PLANTATION

27TH FEBRUARY 2023   ~ We were among the early birds to arrive at the cafe. There still many unoccupied tables. That should be good as we could stay longer at the cafe to enjoy our food. We even had to change our place as the earlier tables chosen would get us wet because of the rain.

We had two types of tea - and one of the orders actually came in a small teapot for four people to drink.

We wanted to try the scones with jam and cream cheese, and waffles with honey. Other than that, there was also a plate of fried kuey tiaw.

Everything was good and we were happy with the food served despite the bad weather that stopped us from exploring the tea plantation. I don't mind coming back to this place just for the breakfast or brunch.

THE ANNUAL BREAKING FAST SESSION OUTSIDE

8TH APRIL 2023   ~ I was invited to attend a break fast session by Mr. Muhammad Syazwan Shavarein [an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti] and the event was organized by his parents' company, Rosha Dynamic. This year, the event chosen was Ramada Meridin and this should be the third time I was here for the same reason.

Too much food but too little time. I had to make my move by 8:00 p.m. so I would not miss my Terawikh prayers that evening.

Thanks to Mr. Syazwan and his parents for the annual invitation. You kind gesture is very much appreciated.
