STOPPING BY AT THE FAMOUS TAMPARULI BRIDGE

28TH FEBRUARY 2023 ~ I must say the most famous bridge in the country is Tamparuli Bridge of Kota Kinabalu. I finally got to walk on the bridge from one end to the other. And basically that was what other visitors did when they were there.

Legend has it that there were many obstacles to get the construction of this bridge to be completed. The bridge collapsed and several attempts to rebuild it failed. The locals  then managed to communicate with the spirit living in the river. The bridge was believed to be built on a sacred site and the spirit was asking for a fair maiden for human sacrifice as a compensation. SCARY!

I managed to get a lot of photos there - thank God there were not many people on that day. You never know when you can come back to this place again.

Will try to find more information about this bridge later.

And here's one famous song that is about the Tamparuli Bridge all Malaysians should know and have listened to.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF FIRDAUS AND TAUFIK MAZIN

The wedding reception of another ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, Mr. Firdaus Mazin was held today at the Community Centre in Mutiara Rini.

The reception held was also for his elder brother, Mr. Taufik Mazin.

I met a few ex-students when I arrived but they were already leaving. I am still waiting for the group photo from anyone of them.

STOPPING BY AT THE SMALL TOWN OF KUNDASANG

The first time we stopped at the small town of Kundasang was on the 27th February - to see what were there to buy. The second time was on the 28th February - to really buy.

The long row of stalls were filled with mostly plants and fresh vegetables. There were also other items put on sale like local food and snacks.

I had to tell myself I should not buy any plants from here to bring home.

There was the moment Mount Kinabalu appeared from behind the clouds at it could be seen clearly. It had been raining throughout our stay in Kundasang and Ranau, and I could finally get myself photographed with the mountain in the background.

catch of the day

It was time to bid farewell to Mount Kinabalu. Despite the continuous rain, I still enjoyed my stay there and I would not hesitate to make a comeback some other time in the future.
