THE LUNCH SESSION WITH THE LADIES AFTER SCHOOL

This was a lunch session with three ladies who are ex-colleagues of SMK Dato' Jaafar. There was no specific reason why there was a lunch date but it was always good to meet up with old friends to keep some kind of updates of what is happening in school.

The chosen venue was Asshryshoshedap Restaurant located at Nong Chik.

THE REVIEW OF THE FOOD AND THE RESTAURANT:
The food was excellent for a person like me who is not fussy. However, the prices were quite high and we had to wait quite long for all the orders to arrive at the table. We were there at 3:00 p.m. and there were still many people having their lunch at that time. Finding a parking spot for your car could also be a challenge.

I got to thanks all the three ladies for the invitation. Hope we could do this again some other time - but not a posh restaurant anymore. 😀

CELEBRATING A FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY AT AEON BUKIT INDAH

Today was an extra public holiday given by a state government as the state football team won the FA Cup. Coincidentally a friend's birthday fell on the same day and it was the best time to celebrate as everyone was free.

The venue chosen was AEON Bukit Indah. The party was started with lunch at Nando's. It was actually a challenge to get there in the first place as there were many people at the mall and difficult to get a parking space.

After lunch, we then adjourned to Zus Coffee which was just located nearby. The customary cutting the cake, singing the birthday song and handing over the birthday present took place here.

The birthday party lasted for about 3 hours and the gossips seemed to be endless. All good things had to come to an end and hopefully we would be able to meet up again soon to continue the chat session.

Hoping Puan Mazzelina Mahmood had enjoyed the time spent with us on her birthday, and may we be able to celebrate more birthdays to come.

STOPPING BY AT IKUTA SHINTO SHRINE

18th JULY 2024    ~ Unlike Kyoto or Osaka [or Tokyo], temples and shrines were not main attractions for tourists. There was this one big Shinto Shrine in the city called Ikuta Shrine.

The small crowd was bearable and we went to explore the place a bit. I found there were a lot of similarities with other temples I had visited in Japan before.

One of the best features of the shrine was its Japanese garden at the back of the building. It was scorching hot in the city that summer afternoon but once I was in the garden, it was cooler.

That was the one and only temple we went to in Kobe. I am sure there were other shrines and temples in the city.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MISS ATHIRAH AND MR SAIFUDDIN

I was invited by Puan Noorulhuda Zakaria, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, to her daughter's wedding reception, Miss Athirah Abdul Samad, who happens to be an ex-student of the same school. Her newly-wedded partner was Mr. Saifuddin Abd. Rahim, who is her schoolmate, her senior of two years. It's a small world after all.

As I arrived at the venue, Kolej Perdana in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, I was greeted by two ex-students who were about the leave the place.

There were more people to meet and greet inside the hall.
