WALKING AROUND MUZIUM DIRAJA SERI MENANTI

   21ST SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ One of the activities I plan to carry out after attending the wedding reception in Kuala Pilah [READ HERE] was to visit the famous Muzium Diraja Seri Menanti [TRANSLATE: Seri Menanti Royal Museum].

I was unfortunate as the museum was closed as it was undergoing renovation work. There were also other visitors who shared the same fate. Many people arrived to visit the attraction when I was there. There was even a tour bus with many tourists.

The best thing we could do was to walk around the building, admiring the unique Minangkabau architecture and pose at a few spots.

This should be a valid reason to come back to Seri Menanti one fine day when the museum would be ready to be visited.

GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE: TEA TIME IN KUALA PILAH

21ST SEPTEMBER 2024 ~ After checking in at the hotel, it was time to explore the place a bit. What I encountered was s food court but with only a few stalls operating.

The first stall that I decided to visit was "Cendol Retro" and I got my Cendol of Kuala Pilah which was the regular type but was filled with red beans and corns, a lot of them. The coconut milk was creamy and the level of sweetness was just right. 

Right beside the Cendol stall, was the place which sold everything fried. To my delight, I found my favourite food: fried Inoki mushroom. For RM6, I got a huge bowl filled with the spicy and crispy mushroom.

I was glad to discover this eating place which was actually attached to the main building of Econsave Supermarket in Kuala Pilah.

ATTENDING A WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S SON IN KUALA PILAH

   21ST SEPTEMBER 2024  ~ I was in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, for the very first time to attend the wedding reception. Puan Hasliza Abdul Rahman, an ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar, held the event for his first son in her hometown and this was the first one for the family.

The venue of the event was at this one homestay named Teratak Nona located in Kampung Purun, Tanjung Ipoh, to be specific.

There were cultural shows such as the Silat [Malay Martial Art] performance and Tarian Piring  [TRANSLATE: Saucer Dance] accompanied by live Caklempong [traditional music instrument] music, which displayef the tradition of the Minangkabau clan of Negeri Sembilan.

There were people from school, ex-colleagues and ex-students, who came all the way from Johor Bahru, to attend the reception. The most important activities were taking as many photos as possible.

Congratulations Puan Hasliza and family for the addition of the new member. Hopefully I will be invited again for similar event in the future so I could go to Kuala Pilah one more time after this.
