THE FIRST PANITIA MEETING FOR 2014

The first panitia meetings for all the subjects were held today in school. The English Language teachers had theirs in 3KAA1 classroom at about 8:30 a.m.

We had a short break at 10:30 a.m. and other teachers from other subjects from the language department came to enjoy the potluck together. We had spaghetti, noodles, curry puffs and custard pudding. Everybody seemed happy enough before we continued on with the meeting.
 

All our Saturdays in January are already occupied with activities before we take a short break for Chinese New Year.

WELLINGTON BOTANIC GARDEN

To have a botanic garden in the city itself would be something that I would not get back home. Located at a higher ground, this was a very large place which would be a very perfect area for strolling while observing the green surrounding. I could just sit there for hours either reading or doing nothing - the weather was pleasant with cool air and birds chirping on the branches above. And, there were blooming flowers everywhere.

I actually had no idea how large this garden was. I took the cable car to get up here (remember?) and spent more than two hours walking and looking and took the exit that led me back to the Parliament buildings.

After reading the website of the Botanic Garden, there were certain spots that I did not explore. According to the information, people could also see glow worm if they go to this one site at night. How cool is that?

NEXT: Flowers of the botanic garden and after that, roses in abundance at the foot of the hill.

THE CABLE CAR MUSEUM

29th November ~ The museum building was situated right opposite the Kelburn terminal. It was just a small place but there was no entry fee. The museum told the history of the cable car, how it worked and the real cars that were used a long time ago were also put on display.

I just spent a short time here (as there was not much to see) before I had to walk for long hours in and out of the Botanic Garden.

ATTENDING AZIZI'S WEDDING

29th November ~ I went to attend a wedding reception of an ex-student from SPM bath 2006, Mr. Azizi Mohd. Yusoff which was held at the Taman Desa Skudai community hall. There were still many of his ex-classmates/schoolmates hanging around even though I arrived there quite late.

As one of his friends made his remark: there would be either one more or one less person who will come visiting me for Eid celebration this year and that we will have to wait and see. Wishing Mr. Azizi and his life partner a wonderful happy life filled with love and happiness ahead of them.

THE FIRST DAY FOR 2014 SCHOOL SESSION STARTED TODAY

My endless gratitude to Allah the Almighty and Merciful for the good weather both in the afternoon and in the evening. The day was in fact very cloudy but the first day of school went on well without a hitch. 1150 students and 62 teachers came back for the new school session in the afternoon for the year 2014.

This was just the beginning so let us all pray for pleasant and happier school days ahead.
