The next stop was the Tiger Cave Temple. There was a cave in the Buddhist temple and in the temple there was this large tiger statue - hence the name. People were allowed to take photos in the temple which was what we could not do when in Beijing - no photographs of the deity.
The next attraction was to climb up a mountain by going up 1237 steps (ARE YOU CRAZY?). That was a challenge for me. No pain, no gain, right?
I must admit that I needed more time to complete this uphill task. If I continued climbing, I was sure the van and the other passengers would leave without me. And I stopped at the 782nd step. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again SOME OTHER TIME. If there is some other time, that is.
I have an excuse why I should go back to Krabi one more time, at least.

FIRST IT WAS EMERALD, THEN BLUE
The next attraction in the itinerary was the Emerald Pool, a spot which has been highlighted in many travel blogs and books. From the parking space, visitors would need to walk to the Emerald Pool for about 800 metres, or it could be more than that.
The pool contained crystal clear emerald water which was a sight to behold. However, again, like the hot stream, the pool was just too small or were there too many excited people to go for a dip in there?
Then, I spotted a walking pavement built with concrete that would lead me to another pool: the Blue Pool. Seriously, I had never come across about this in any blogs I read before going to Thailand. Being the curious me, I decided to trek uphill and it was another 10-15 minutes walk through the forest.
It was worth the effort when I finally the Blue Pool right in front of me. It was really a breathtaking scenery. Nevertheless, people are not allowed to swim here as, according to the signboard, the pool is too deep and the "sucking mud" (something like a quicksand, I think) could be dangerous.
Then there was this one lady who kept shouting and clapping her hands excitedly by the pool, I thought she was crazy. After some time, then only I realized, by doing that, there would be ripples on the surface of the pool. A Physics lesson in real life that was.
The members of the traveling van were told to meet at this restaurant at the entrance for our lunch which was included in the package. This was a Muslim restaurant so you should have no doubt to eat here. I had to share the lunch table with two people from Germany and two others from Ukraine. Too bad, they did not like the extremely hot and spicy tom yam - their loss, my gain.

MOVIE REVIEW: "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER"
Another Marvel Superhero comic character transferred to the silver screen. Captain America is back and people are hungry for more actions and violence, and we jumped on the bandwagon. :)
This time, Captain America had to face the villain, the Winter Soldier. You should know by now who had won the battle in the end. The moral of the story: one of your friends is actually your enemy. Violence level: very high. Entertainment level: very high if you like violence in a movie. *sigh again*
The next movie: Spiderman or/and Transformers *sigh the third time*

THE SECOND IN-SERVICE TRAINING SESSION FOR TEACHERS THIS YEAR
5th April 2014 ~ The second in-service training for the academic staff of SMK Taman Universiti was held today at our favourite spot, CTL Lecture Hall in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
The topic chosen for today's half a day course was Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 ["Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia"]. The guest speaker was Dr. Hayati Ismail from PADU and she is also my ex-coursemate from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia.

I must say the session was a very successful one. Not only the participants understood the topic better but they also enjoyed the presentation which was lively and humourous throughout.

Thanks a lot to Dr. Hayati who had come all the way from KL to impart and share the knowledge. And I am sure you will be remembered by my friends here.

TWO EX-STUDENTS' WEDDINGS ON A SATURDAY
I attended two ex-students' wedding receptions today, as if that was something new. Both events were held at Taman Universiti and the locations were close to each other.
The first wedding reception was of Ruziyana Jais, the ex-student, and Izwan Kamarudin, who is not my ex-student. I am yet to find out to which batch Ruziyana belongs to. The were quite a few of other ex-students whom I could not recognize anymore - they sure had grown up very fast.
WEDDING #2
The second invitation came from Nuraini Mohd. Zin, the ex-student and she is married to someone not my ex-student too, Aizat Abdul Rahman. Nuraini is from SPM batch 2004 if I am not wrong. There were also a few ex-students but they were recognizable as I always meet them at events like this.
Congratulations to both couples. Wishing you the happiness, love and laughter throughout your married lives.
