TWO WEDDINGS ON ONE SATURDAY AFTERNOON

4th April 2015 ~ I was here at Taman Mutiara Rini attending the wedding reception of Mr. Amar Faiz bin Zainal Abidin, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti from SPM batch 2002.

There I met an ex-student whom I just met on Facebook recently, Miss Chong Lee Ching, from SPM batch 2000 if I am not mistaken. We were both truly excited and I was glad to see she was still her bubbly self.

There was also Miss Nor Aliaa, the sister of the bridegroom, also an ex-student of mine. She looked real busy playing host on that day so we could not sit down and talk for too long.

And right after, I had to rush to another venue in Kempas to attend a similar function. It was the wedding reception of Miss Endong, a teacher friend whom I used to work with when I was still the Afternoon Supervisor (a.k.a Senior Assistant of the Afternoon Session). There were a few familiar faces there and they were none other than other teacher friends.

There was actually one last wedding after that but I would not post about it here. For one thing, I surely had put on a lot of weight. *sigh*

JUDGING A PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION FOR DISTRICT LEVEL

the just and wise adjudicators
4th April 2015 ~ It was time to judge the annual Public Speaking Competition for Johor Bahru district. The event was held at SMK Desa Skudai with 32 schools taking part.

It was not an easy job actually to be a judge. However, the decision was somewhat unanimous so the verdict was announced quite fast and the whole thing ended by 1:00 p.m. We will have to wait for another year for the same event and to do the same job.

TANJUNG AAN BEACH, LOMBOK

The next spot we went to was Tanjung Aan Beach. The place looked quite near to Tanakbeak Beach. Howver, we had to climb a small hill so we could observe a better scenery. That should be a good form of exercise after all the delicious food consumed just after two days in Lombok.

Again, there were no other people around. I could enjoy the magnificent view and take photos without having any difficulty of getting people away from the photo frames. Lombok is definitely the place if you are planning for a quiet vacation with friends or family where nature is still undisturbed.

TANAKBEAK BEACH AT KUTA, LOMBOK

This was our first beach stop after lunch - Tanakbeak Beach, at Kuta, Lombok. We were the only tourists and the street vendors were the only locals around. Beautiful clear blue sea, a long stretch of sandy beach - there was nothing else I would ask for.

This was only the introduction to the plentiful unspoiled beaches of Lombok. Here, life is more than a beach.

MY LOMBOK GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - PART 1

Unlike Bali, Lombok is heavily populated by Muslims. Hence, delicious and authentic local halal food is in abundance. Therefore, this is one place for you to explore the food haven.

overlooking Kuta Beach

This was the first restaurant I went to on the second day of my stay on the island. Located near the Kuta Beach (yes, there is a place called Kuta too in Lombok), there was also accommodation for tourists at this place. Good food, clean place, great Indonesian hospitality - I had nothing to complain at all.
