UPM TESL CLASS OF 1993 SILVER JUBILEE REUNION HI-TEA IN KUALA LUMPUR

16th DECEMBER 2018 ~ The day when 48 coursemates and 5 lecturers of UPM TESL class of 1993 from all over the place gathered at Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, finally came. This was just an effort to cherish friendship and strengthen the bond after graduating from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, Serdang, 25 years ago.  A few came with their spouses and kids.

The hard work of the committee members was eventually paid off and I must say the most difficult task would be to convince people to be there. I will have again to thank everyone who was there and had made the Silver Jubilee Reunion a success. I don't know whether we will be able to see each other again in a bigger group like this in the future, or will there be people who volunteer to organize a similar event.

We had only four hours to mingle and catch up for lost time, and it was definitely not enough. Anyway, with all the loud noises and laughter, everything was just like yesterday once more. I just hope this would not be the end, and am quite sure there will be more smaller gatherings of people from this group.

And for this gift I feel blessed

And always will until the end"

There will be a collection of photos during the event posted after this. Just photos.
Too many of them, and selecting and editing will require a lot of time.

A POST GATHERING AFTER A REUNION HI-TEA AT THE AIRPORT

16th DECEMBER 2018 ~ We had a mini post gathering after the UPM TESL Reunion Hi-Tea at the hotel initially. There were four other friends who continued sitting and chatting in  together for just a short time at PappaRich Cafe in KLIA2.

Puan Rozida Ramli had to wait for a flight to Penang scheduled at 9:00 p.m. As for Puan Sharon Taty and I, we would be staying at a nearby hotel before catching our flights to our respective destinations the next morning and Puan Zanariah Abdul Shukor was kind enough to accompany us the whole evening. As for Puan Maslinda Mohd. Dahalan, she was there as she could not make it to the bigger reunion earlier.

Then the time came to send Puan Rozida to the domestic departure gate of KLIA2, and Puan Maslinda to the parking entrance/exit of the mall.

Early the next Monday morning on 17th December, Puan Zanariah sent Puan Sharon Taty and me to the airport again and had breakfast at the Burger King restaurant there. Our flights were at 9:00 so we had to part ways one hour before the gates were closed.

And I met Puan Adila Ahmad, another TESL coursemate, who was there with other family members on their way to Belitong, Indonesia.

I guess I would have to thank Puan Zanariah Abdul Shukor again for driving all us here and there after the hi-tea gathering until the next morning. And for the others, thanks for the company. The waiting at the airport had never been a pleasant one when you had friends around.

MY COLLECTIBLES - PERFUME

My very first expensive perfume was bought in June 2010 in Stansted Airport in the UK. Perfume was much cheaper abroad especially when there was a big discount given. Believe it or not, this big bottle of perfume lasted for many years - I think almost eight.

Then I started buying more perfumes at the airport free duty shops when I went traveling but when only they were cheap. And soon, the collection grew bigger but I still had to finish the first big bottle of perfume before I opened a new box.

I should have used more than one types of perfume now since I have different brands at home. However, I don't really fancy that idea.

There were times I could not remember whether I had had the perfume in my collection already when I was about to buy one to bring back home. Once I bought exactly the same bottle and just gave it to my BIL as a souvenir.

This should be the biggest bottle of attar oil perfume from Saudi Arabia, given by an ex-student who came back from performing Umrah there.

I wonder if people will be interested to buy my perfumes if I put them on sale.

MORE FRIENDS ARE OPTING FOR EARLY RETIREMENT

Two more friends among the English teachers of SMK Taman Universiti are opting for earlier retirement. Puan Aliah Hussein was kind enough to throw a farewell gathering for Puan Tini Zainuddin and Miss Lee Kiaw Moi at her house in Taman Pulai Perdana.

A few friends could not make it this time as we are in the midst of school holiday. They might be holidaying somewhere else at this time. We still enjoyed the delicious food and the company.

Wishing Puan Tini and Miss Lee a pleasant life as retirees and still hope we will still meet again for other gathering.

And I should thank the host for the good food and hospitality, as well as other friends who were there to share the food they brought along.

SPOT THE ERROR 121

I was thinking of something else.

Thanks to the Malay words, which mean something like: offering construction work for house renovation. The English word must have derived from the word CONTRACTOR.
