ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF ANOTHER TESL FRIEND'S SON IN BANGI

28th SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ The members of the UPM TESL group was invited to another wedding reception which was held in Bangi Golf Resort. It was another friend's turn to embrace the title of mother-in-law for the first time. The reception was of the son of Puan Zarinamahnum Hj. Alias, the first event for the family.

Some friends turned up at the venue as early as 11:00 a.m. and one spot of the hall was conquered by the group members.

Other than enjoying the spread of scrumptious food on the buffet tables, there were endless photo-taking sessions which happened all over the place.

The aunties were all excited to get photographed in the photo booth.

The photoshoot sessions also took place outside the hall with the mother [and father] of the groom, once we arrived or before we left the place.

The excitement of seeing old friends sure had generated the extra energy to move around the place, say "hi" to everybody and pose for the cameras.

I met an old friend from UPM Fourth Residential College [now known as Kolej Canselor] which I had not seen for a very long time.

Congratulations to Puan Zarinamahnum and husband on the addition of the new members into the family and hopefully we will be invited again for other similar events after this. We shall now wait for any possible wedding invitations for another TESL reunion session to happen.

BAGAN LALANG BEACH AT A GLANCE

29th SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ We were on Bagan Lalang Beach for less than 10 minutes, just to take photos as evidence I had been there and done that. We didn't have enough time to spend, blame it on the slow service at the restaurant where we had had lunch earlier. [READ HERE]

Clean and a long stretch of wide sandy beach, this should be one good place to escape the hustle and bustle of a city life. There was this resort on the water, Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, that could be seen from afar.

I would have to wait for Mr. Ridwan Wahid, or any other people, to take there again later.

THE LATE LUNCH/EARLY DINNER IN BAGAN LALANG

29th SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ Before catching my flight home, Mr. Ridwan Wahid [a friend of the TESL group], his wife and daughter brought me to Bagan Lalang for our late lunch/early dinner. When we arrived there at about 4:00 p.m., unfortunately many restaurants had not started business yet. We had not many option but to choose Restoran Ikan Bakar Rimbayu.

Other visitors to the place also had the same fate so there were many people in the dining area. On one hand, the food was delicious. We had rice with variety of seafood like fish, squids, prawns and cockles. On the other hand, the service was a bit too slow and Mr. Ridwan had to pack one type of dish home as we would not have enough time to enjoy it there for the fear I would be late to reach the airport.

We ordered vegetables for three and instead of one big plate, three smaller plates arrived. They must have taken our order literally.

The fried flour covered squids were unfortunately not crispy as they should be.

Guess we would have to make a come back some other time later, to try other seafood at other eating places for other/better gastronomic adventure at Bagan Lalang as well as to enjoy the panorama of the sea and the beach.

THE FAREWELL LUNCH DATE AT WARUNG MAN MAK RAM

The lunch date was set with an ex-student [of SMK Taman Universiti] this afternoon before he starts work at his new place in Pontian. Once he is there, then it will more difficult to find time to meet up.

The chosen venue was Warung Man Mak Ram in Kampung Pasir.

We couldn't stay for too long as we both had to get to work right after. Wishing Mr. Firdaos Zulkifli the very best of luck in JKM Pontian. Thanks also for giving me the opportunity to voluntarily work with the department after my retirement. Don't worry, we shall find the time to go for coffee when the time is right.

THE POST WEDDING RECEPTION GATHERING AT TAQISAH CAFE IN BANGI

28TH SEPTEMBER 2024    ~ After the wedding reception at Bangi Golf Resort [READ HERE], a few of the TESL group members adjourned to Taqisah Cafe which was nearby to continue the chatting/gossiping session.

The owner of this cafe is one of the TESL group members. This should be my second time here.

Only three people ordered food as we were still full from the feast at the reception.

It was just a short stay at the cafe and we had to part ways, hoping to get to see each other again some other time. Thanks to Puan Rozida Mohd. Ramli for sponsoring the food and drinks [I should have ordered food].

If you are in Bangi, do drop by at Taqisah Cafe for its variety of food and drinks, opens daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
