ATTENDING HUAN HUEY CHYN'S WEDDING

I was invited to Huan Huey Chyn's wedding today. Actually, today's reception was specially done by her husband and in-laws for their neighbours in Taman Kempas. It was very kind of her to invite me and I would not disappoint someone as pleasant as her. She looked really beautiful in her wedding gown. Puan Nilam, our Principal, arrived as I was just about to finish my food.

So I wish Puan Huan and her partner all the happiness the world has to offer in their life. See you later in school on the 1st of January.

I BADE FAREWELL TO GOLD COAST

[13th DECEMBER] After spending three days in Gold Coast, it was time to say "goodbye". With a few more hours to kill before catching our flight to Sydney, we went back to Harbour Town, the only shopping hub that we could find. It was actually my third time there but it was the best time to get myself photographed around the place as I was not buying anything.

waiting for the flight at Coolangata Airport

I must say that I had an enjoyable time at Gold Coast as well as Brisbane. It is always exciting to see new places and people, no matter how short the time is. However, this was not yet the end of my journey in Australia as I had another six days to spend in Sydney. So be prepared for more postings of Sydney for the coming few days.

PMR 2010 RESULT IS OUT

Today was an important day for the form three students - the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination result was announced. So it should be a mixed feelings of excitement and anxiety.

ex-students who came to witness the historical moment

Generally, 34 students managed to get straight A's. The passing percentage increased but the
GPS (school average grade) dropped a bit. As for English subject, the passing percentage went up but the GPS decreased a little, meaning that more people passed the English paper this year but the quality was not as good as last year's.

Congratulations to all the excellent students who got straight A's. You have made the school proud.

LIST OF STRAIGHT A's STUDENTS

As for those who did not make it into the list, do NOT feel disappointed as this is just only the beginning. You still have a long way to go. It is now time to start working and focusing towards a new aim in your school life.

13th DECEMBER - IT'S TIME TO GET WET AND WILD

The third theme park that I went to was "Wet and Wild Water World". Nevertheless, I got neither wet nor wild, I was not ready for it. But it was worth the visit as I could see that most of the rides were really wild and a few were scary too. If you are wondering, how much did it cost to visit the parks in Gold Coast, there was a package which enabled people to enter three theme parks of their choices at only AUD99.00 which was much cheaper than only going to one theme park.

From my observation, these people were having such great time. They might want to cool off from the hot summer sun by getting themselves in the water. However, if you think many of them were those like those gorgeous people you see on television series, then you were wrong. I guess the sexy ones went to beach and the ugly ones went to the theme park.

There are actually many more theme parks around Gold Coast and these are the main attractions here. So if you have a lot of money to spend and want to have a blast of a lifetime, Gold Coast is the place to go but make sure spend a longer time here.

KFC-ING FOR A GOOD REASON

When Firdaus called me up for the much awaited KFC treat, it was just at the right time as I was having a craving for fried chicken. But there was a reason for this and it was a long story. Once, Firdaus' handphone was stolen during one of the marching competitions in school. It was something that had never happened before. Everyone was furious and because of this incident, it meant there was someone was not to be trusted in the Kadet Bomba group. Fortunately, after a few weeks, we managed to get the phone returned to its rightful owner, with the help of Husni and Asyraf and also their mother, which was another long story. So this was in a way for Firdaus to celebrate and to express his gratitude to us for solving the mystery of the missing handphone, after 10 months. Well, it is always better late than never.

13th DECEMBER - SURFERS PARADISE

Right after Brisbane, we headed for Surfers Paradise, a small town located in Gold Coast. Judging from the name of the place, you should know what this place is famous for. When we were there, some construction work was being done at the beach so it was not a pleasant sight. The weather was hot. People were there mostly for the sun, sand and surf, and shopping too. And we were there just to observe the people and the surrounding. Not much can be done unless we were there to get our bodies tanned like everybody else, and furthermore we had one more place to go before flying back to Mr. Ridwan's house in Sydney.

BACK TO LIFE, BACK TO REALITY

I finally arrived home after being away in the land down under for about 9 days. I guess it is now time to get back to work and get busy after the short holiday. Maybe I need a day to rest before going back to school. There will more late postings of my visit there but I hope you will not get bored reading too much of Australia.

I would like to thank Mr. Ridwan, Puan Suhaila and Ms. Reihana for the warm hospitality throughout my stay in Gold Coast and Sydney. Actually, I cannot thank you enough for the kindness for accepting me as a guest for the SECOND time in Australia. Only Allah may repay whatever your generosity.
