JOHOR BAHRU DISTRICT MARCHING COMPETITION 2015 - GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION GIRLS CATEGORY

I was on duty for this year's district level marching competition for government organization girls category. The event was held at SMK Taman Nusa Jaya, Gelang Patah and with 13 teams taking part, the competition ended by 2;00 p.m.

Gone are the days when I had to share all the hard work, the joy of winning and the frustration of losing with the members of the marching team. *sad*

There will one more competition  for the boys category in April.

JOHOR BAHRU DISTRICT LEVEL CHESS TOURNAMENT 2015 FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

The annual district level chess competition was held for two days at SMK(P) Sultan Ibrahim or better known as SIGS. As usual, I was one of the committee members who had to run the event with other few friends. Other than that, I had the chance to see friends and students from my former school, SMK Taman Universiti. I was excited to see some familiar faces from the Chess Club which I was synonymous with last time, and they me.

I am looking forward to take the Johor Bahru contingent to the state level competition next month.

BENANG KELAMBU WATERFALLS - PART TWO

"Benang"= thread

"Kelambu" = mosquito net

 My inference on how the name "the thread of the mosquito net" was given to the waterfall could be either:

(1) The water cascades in fine, thin stream of water, like the thread of a mosquito net; or

(2) There is a thin mist of water sprayed around you as you are standing near the waterfalls as if you are observing the surrounding inside a mosquito net. 

I was so much in love with this place and I would not mind coming back again to this very spot.There is also another waterfall nearby, Benang Stokel, and a few others in Lombok.

There is no need for me to describe what I had seen. I would just let the pictures do the talking.

The best thing of all, the trip to the waterfalls involved too many people beyond my expectation. Hence the saying, the more the merrier. Thanks again to the people playing hosts for taking me to the waterfalls. I was truly touched by the friendliness shown during my short visit there.

BENANG KELAMBU WATERFALLS - PART ONE

16th March 2015 ~ We had first to hike up a hill, thank God in a Land Rover. I was suddenly in a Camel Adventure series rally and the bumpy right with more than 10 people in it was surprisingly fun. The passengers, mostly family members, were laughing loudly every time the vehicle bumped up and down on the track. Thankfully, no one was thrown out, even the three people who were sitting on the bonnet of the truck were safe.

Then we had to walk down steep stairs (and later walked up on the way back, which was a torture) to get to the waterfall. On the way there, there would be small streams of water on the wall on one side of the hill 

Finally, from afar, I could see the cascading waterfall which was a sight to behold. After taking a few long distance photos of the waterfall, we marched downhill to see what nature had to offer.
