THE NIGHT MARKET IN IPOH CITY CENTRE

26TH AUGUST 2023    ~ The only attraction that we could find late at night on Saturday in Ipoh city was its Night Market. There were not many people visiting this area when we were there. The place was located right in the heart of the city, the commercial area, I supposed.

I walked from one end to the other and found nothing that caught my attention. It was just another Night Market but thanked to Mr. Radin Mohd. Hafiz, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, who was working and residing in Ipoh for taking me there. It was more fun riding a motorcycle around the city in the middle of the night when the road was almost unoccupied most of the time.

A BIRTHDAY PARTY [DURING LUNCH BREAK] IN THE OFFICE

It was still in the midst of school holiday and we decided to throw a small birthday party for Ms. Shahira, one of the school clerks of SMK Dato' Jaafar, during lunch hour in the office. There was not much food actually as it was all planned at the very last minute but the joyous party mood was still evident.

Happy [belated] birthday Ms. Shahira, may you be blessed by Allah the Almighty. Next year you will have to celebrate with the new Senior Assistant. 😀

DINNER SESSION WITH MORE TESL FRIENDS IN IPOH

26th AUGUST 2023    ~ We went to this restaurant called Miker Signature because the first place we wanted to go to was closed as it was undergoing some sort of renovation work. At the same time, we were not sure where else to go and all the eating places in Ipoh seemed to close earlier in the evening. The gastronomic adventure must still happen in Ipoh despite all the obstacles.

The place looked kind of new and there were many people dining in at the time we were there.

We had to wait for quite some time for all the ordered food to arrive at our table. It could be because of the crowd in the restaurant in the evening. However, with three TESL friends and someone's husband, dinner was always the best.

DINNER TIME AT LOCCA CAFE IN SHAH ALAM

16TH DECEMBER 2023    ~ To complement the breakfast in Dengkil and lunch in Putrajaya, Mr. Ridwan Wahid took me to Locca Cafe for dinner. It was located somewhere in Elmina East in Shah Alam.

The place looked like new. There were many customers when we were there. I was actually waiting for my flight home scheduled at 8:30 p.m. so we were actually expecting the food to arrive at the table quickly. Unfortunately, we had to cancel two dishes that were not able to be served on time. That should be something the management of the restaurant had to look at very seriously.

Thanks aplenty to my kind host, Mr. Ridwan Wahid, a friend of the TESL group, who had been ferrying me around for the gastronomic adventures, sending and fetching me to and from the wedding reception venue and finally, dropping me at Subang Airport. I just couldn't thank you enough.

THE SHORT COFFEE BREAK AFTER THE HARD WORK IN SCHOOL

24th DECEMBER 2023    ~ We, my colleagues of SMK Dato' Jaafar, and I had been working hard in school in the morning, during a school break, so it was time to give ourselves a reward. Someone suggested this cafe called Belly Treats at Dataran Larkin for a short coffee break although it was already lunch time.

The cafe looked new with interesting deco and a few spots for people to pose and post the pics on their socmed platforms.

This should be some of the evidence of the hard work done in school before that.

That should sum up how I spent my day during the school break with colleagues before retiring.
