"Getting to know you
Getting to know all about you
Getting to like you
Getting to hope you like me."
~ The King and I ~
18th October 2014 ~ We were walking from the Grand Palace, trying to find our way to the National Museum when we accidentally saw this building. There was no entry fee so we happily hopped in, to see what was inside. Everything was related to King Chulalongkorn, hence the name of the place: King Chulalongkorn Memorial Exhibition Building.
King Chulalongkorn is considered as one of the greatest kings of Siam who had modernized Siam and developed good political rapport with western countries which had made the country the only one in South East Asia that was never colonized by foreigners. He was the King that abolished the practice of slavery in Siam. He was the son of King Mongkut, and was portrayed as the brightest, wittiest and bravest of all the children in the movie "The King and I". Now I really have to find my DVD and watch it again.
It was just a short stop for us as the exhibition hall was not a large place to go around but it was excellently done. You might need more time to get to know the king better, and hope he will like you too. And the best way, try to read more about him and you can simply find it here on the internet.
