5th SEPTEMBER 2022 ~ We first saw this floating mosque on Sarawak River when we reached Kuching Waterfront. We decided to stop by after having dinner at Plaza Merdeka for our Maghrib and Isya' prayers.
The mosque is called Masjid India [TRANSLATE: Indian Mosque]. The new building was completed in 2019 and should be another landmark of the city. The original Masjid India was located nearby between shops in Jalan India, which was Kuching oldest mosque built by the Indian settlers.
Everything looked modern and new here, and with the strategic location, the mosque should be a convenience for Muslims to perform their prayers when they are near the Waterfront area.
