14TH OCTOBER 2023 ~ It was indeed an honour to be invited by Dr. Fauziah Hassan, the lecturer who taught me in Universiti Pertanian Malaysia [UPM] 30 years ago,to the wedding reception of his son. This should be the invitation that I should not miss even though I had to take the bus from KLIA right after the event from KLIA before midnight, and would arrive in Johor Bahru in the wee hour of the morning the next day and get ready to go to school.
I was seated at Table 47 with four other TESL friends [and their spouses] and Dr. Ghazali, a UPM lecturer, and his wife in Movenpick Hotel Convention Hall. The event started a few minutes after 8.00 p.m. and there was a huge crowd in the hall. We were hoping to see our other lecturers there but there seemed to be no one we could recognize.
It was actually not convenient to walk around in the hall so we just took photos of everybody at our table.
I met another TESL friend who was seated at other table outside the hall.
It was a beautiful wedding reception and the food was fantastic. I was happy to get to see my UPM TESL friends and most importantly, the mother of the groom, Dr. Fauziah Hassan. Congratulations Dr. Fauziah on the addition of a new member into the family. Thanks a lot for the kind thought and hopefully we will be invited again to other similar events in the future.
