EXPLORING LABRADOR AT DUSK

As the weather was good and I could not walk around this place the day before, so it was the best time to see what Labrador had to offer. From historical point of view, Labrador was named after a town in Canada due to its similiar fisihing activities. Not much can be found here, just a small and peaceful suburb town and would be a perfect option for people who want to run away from the crazy city life. I guess Labrador is one of the accommocation choices made by tourists for their visit to the Gold Coast.

12th DECEMBER - 2nd DAY COLD COAST: PART 2

The next destination was Sea World, a theme park that, judging by its name, has things related to the sea and water. It was a large area to explore but not to worry, there were other means of transportation to get around the place if you dislike walking.

We first tried the cable car ride that took us across the park. Right after that, we started to explore the place and there were a variety of marine creatures not only to see, but also to touch. There was a pond where visitors had the chance to feel some living things in it, like sea cucumbers and starfish.

One of the most exciting places to be in was its underwater world. Once you got into the "tunnel" you could watch lots of magnificent sea creatures, big and small, swimming in front of your very own eyes. Just imagine yourself in front of a gigantic aquarium which was full of colourful fish, or a huge screen with documentary of the deep sea being projected on it. The only thing that separated you from the animals was the glass panel. If only I could just sit and stay there forever.

There were no penguins though, they just had the 3-D movie of "Happy Feet" being shown. And there were other rides and pools for kids, but we just did not want to get ourselves wet.

Another splendid animal show that we managed to catch was the dolphins. Undeniably intelligent animals, what made the dolphins were able to carry out all the tasks was the trust that was established between the trainers and animals.

We took the tram ride back to the exit. We had to try at least this ride, and at the same time our feet were not happy anymore, unlike the penguins.

And we managed to catch the last show before we left. It was about a big ship, pirates and British sailors fighting with each other in a comic sketch. There were a lot of acrobatic acts which involved people jumping on the trampoline, swinging from one rope to another and diving into the pool from the tall mast of the ship. It should be entertaining but I had to confess that I had problem understanding the characters' dialogues in Australian accent, but the jumping and diving looked real fun.

This theme park is highly recommended for adults and children alike and you should spend more time here. More pictures of the this place coming your way.

12th DECEMBER - 2ND DAY GOLD COAST: PART 1

at the entrance of Movie World

After Mr. Ridwan and his family had arrived at the apartment in the morning, we quicky rushed to our first destination: Movie World. There were not many people at the gate as we were among the early birds and it only opened at 9:30 a.m.

in front of Scooby-Doo rollercoaster

I wanted to go into the Scooby-Doo studio with the early thought that it was just an ordinary ghost house. However, it turned out to be a roller coaster ride and it was scary because the whole thing moved in the dark so we did not know which direction we were moving. It was more of a surprise as I thought it would not be that extreme.

waiting for the stunt show to start

We managed to catch a breathtaking display of driving experts manouevering cars and a motorcycle like we used to watch in action movies. The way the whole thing was presented was very interesting. It was as if a real filming was going on set, and it was interactive because a few spectators were asked to participate in a few of its scenes which had made it very funny and entertaining in a way.

queueing for the Looney Tunes roller coaster ride

There were just too many rides available for you in the Movie World theme park but I tried only two. You definitely need to spend more time there if you want to try all the activities there. Other than that, we managed to watch a 4D movie "The Journey to the Centre of the Earth". Too many things and yet too little time for us.

Taking a breather before heading to the second theme park

For those who love to get their hair down and scream their hearts out, literally speaking, after all the hard and stressful days at work, this is the place for you. Too bad, many of the movie characters were not out yet on the street to be photographed so I could not meet two of my favourites which are Catwoman and Wonderwoman. We could not wait any longer as there were other places to go. So wait for part 2 which will be coming your way soon. And I will post more pictures of the Movie World later for you.

SANDCASTLES ON THE BROADWATER APARTMENT

This is the apartment where I stayed with Mr. Ridwan and his family during my 3D2N visit to Goldcoast.

11th DECEMBER - ARRIVING AT GOLDCOAST, AUSTRALIA

After 8 hours of flight on AirAsia from LCCT Sepang, finally I safely arrived at Coolangata Airport, Goldcoast at about 7:00 a.m. The first thing to do was to get my luggage to the apartment but not for checking in. Check in time could only be done at 2:00 p.m. but luckily I was allowed to leave my three big bags at the reception desk. To kill time, as suggested by the receptionist, I walked to a big shopping centre called "Harbour Town" which should be a 20-minute walk but in the end , it was 2 km away from the apartment.

I did not buy anything though, except lunch and an umbrella. It was raining heavily and it did not stop until evening. What more, with a pair of wet shoes, exploring activities could not be done. So I just rested and waited for Mr. Ridwan and his family to arrive the next morning. At least, I would have enough rest before the excursion would begin the very next day.

BLOGGING FROM SYDNEY, AGAIN.

I am now blogging from Sydney, for the second time. After spending three days in Goldcoast, Queensland, I am lucky enough to get to stay at Mr. Ridwan's house in Sydney again (in a different house though). Too tired to write more, I will try to post more later. Until then.

LAZY

the orchids of the Singapore Zoo

LAZY

by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON

Some men enjoy the constant strife
Of days with work and worry rife,
But that is not my dream of life:
I think such men are crazy.
For me, a life with worries few,
A job of nothing much to do,
Just pelf enough to see me through:
I fear that I am lazy.

On winter mornings cold and drear,
When six o'clock alarms I hear,
'Tis then I love to shift my ear,
And hug my downy pillows.
When in the shade it's ninety-three,
No job in town looks good to me,
I'd rather loaf down by the sea,
And watch the foaming billows.

Some people think the world's a school,
Where labor is the only rule;
But I'll not make myself a mule,
And don't you ever doubt it.
I know that work may have its use,
But still I feel that's no excuse
For turning it into abuse;
What do you think about it?

Let others fume and sweat and boil,
And scratch and dig for golden spoil,
And live the life of work and toil,
Their lives to labor giving.
But what is gold when life is sped,
And life is short, as has been said,
And we are such a long time dead,
I'll spend my life in living.

*NOTE: I am feeling lazy and desperately need a break. Will be going off to a place that will be revealed later. Will update once I get the internet access. Until then, happy holidays everybody!
