FOUR WEDDINGS BACK-TO-BACK, AGAIN

A very brief report on the four wedding receptions attended in about 4 and a half hours. 

WEDDING #1

I came early and the bride was not ready yet so I did not have the chance to meet her. There is a picture of my other colleagues with the pair which I found on Facebook. One special thing, there was a stall serving "putu piring" at this wedding reception. And I did not meet anyone I know here, for once.

I arrived quite late. Nobody I knew was here. However, I got to watch magic shows and one of the performers was the father of the bridegroom.

STATE LEVEL "SOLAT HAJAT PERDANA"

4th September 2014 ~ I was asked to attend the "Solat Hajat Perdana" event that was held at the mosque in Bandar Baru Uda. This event was a state level function organized by the State and District Education Office and I wonder if they are having this kind of event at national level too. The prayer was held for candidates who will be sitting for various public examinations like UPSR, PT3, SPM and STAM. There should be many VIPs, teachers, and students from both primary and secondary schools.

Dinner was prepared for everybody right after everything was over but there were just too many people whom I did not know around so I just went off  and had my favourite "Kacang Pool" at the usual stall. I must be the obedient one, I did not see other people whom I should be seeing.

MOVIE REVIEW - "LUCY"

Someone wanted to watch Ninja Turtles (and Megan Fox) but when we arrived at the booth, the tickets had already sold out. We had to settle for "Lucy" and it was quite an interesting movie though it might be a bit too educational and scientific.

Lucy (played by none other than the charming Scarlett Johansson), was the girl who was used to transport illegal drugs which was implanted in her tummy. In one scene, she was beaten and the drugs leaked in her body and the chemicals was absorbed by her body system. This was the moment when she got the power to use the parts of the brain that humans had not had the chance to use before. She became so powerful that she could control almost everything, but of course she was trying to get her revenge against the bad people who were in the syndicate. At one point, she could even time travel to the past, met Darwin's Ape before she suddenly disappeared into thin air. Into the infinity, perhaps?

I just wish I could have the power so I could use my mind to make certain people change the situation I am now in, or at least make them understand and feel what I am feeling right now. *sigh*

THE POST EID VISIT

30th August 2014 ~ Visiting does not only limit during the month of Eid. As the saying goes, it is better late than never. Thanks Aliff and Ariff for coming over with the parents and sister, as usual. We should plan for an outing when you two come back for the semester break.

TWO MORE WEDDINGS ON THE WEEKEND OF NATIONAL DAY

WEDDING #1

The first invitation was the reception of Puan Aliah's daughter. It was held at Pusat Latihan, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. I managed to meet a few friends and ex-students there. 

WEDDING #2

The next event was at Bandar Baru Uda. It was the wedding reception of Ms. Nor Liyana Safura Hashim, an ex-student from SPM batch 2005. The reception was actually for the husband's side and I went there as it was nearer as hers was done in Muar the day before, and the same time I had four invitations to attend. Met a few ex-students here too.

There will be more wedding invitations to attend next weekend.
