JOHOR BAHRU CHESS TEAM CENTRALIZED TRAINING - DAY 2

21st APRIL 2009 ~ The second day of the centralized training was held at the same place, SK Taman Sri Tebrau. This time, the best six for each age and gender category were here for more practice. Nevertheless, many players arrived late as there was a very bad traffic jam on the main road heading to town, but that was another story.

A short briefing was then given to all the players before the contingent go to Segamat for the state level competition the day after next. Wish us luck, lots of it.

JOHOR BAHRU CHESS TEAM CENTRALIZED TRAINING - DAY 1

20th APRIL 2015 ~ A centralized training session for Johor Bahru Chess Team was held today at SK Taman Sri Tebrau. However, this year, the top ten players from the district level competition had to compete once again and by the end of the session, only six would be chosen for the state level for each category.

There were also a simultaneous chess session and a short workshop. The selected ones would have to come again the very next day for another centralized training session.

WELCOMING THE TRAINEE TEACHERS FROM UPGRI SEMARANG, INDONESIA

19th April 2015 ~ I was asked to represent the Principal to attend an event in the Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This event was held to welcome a few trainee teachers from UPGRI Semarang, Indonesia, to school. They would be undergoing a 4-week teacher training session and to me it would be more like an exchange students programme. I would have to see that they would at least not face any problem during their stay in Malaysia. That makes me sound a very important person.

As usual, I met another ex-student, Mr. Ser Kuan Wei from SPM batch 2008, in campus. How these people have really grown up so fast and how I have grown very old. *sigh*

MY COLLECTIBLES - SCHOOL MAGAZINES

I finally received SMK Taman Universiti's school magazine 2014 edition to complete my collection. I will turn mu house into a museum sooner or later.

I think I should continue collecting even though I am no longer there.

ROAMING ON THE STREET OF GILI TRAWANGAN - PART THREE

After the "cidomo" ride, we just went to for a stroll on the long stretch of street along the beach. Basically there were villas and accommodation, shops and restaurants - mainly to cater to the needs of the visitor to the island. Gili Trawangan is the hub of water activities like snorkeling and diving for people who are more adventurous.

We headed back to the main island before lunch time and the journey back on the speedboat was more bumpy and a hell of a roller coaster ride.
