THE SOLEMNIZATION CEREMONY OF A FRIEND'S DAUGHTER IN SUBANG JAYA

27th DECEMBER 2024   ~ I was invited by Puan Maslinda Mohd. Dahalan, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, to the solemnization ceremony of her first daughter. The event was held at Bizmilla Wedding Centre at One City in Subanng Jaya.

The solemnization ceremony started at about 8:00 p.m.

The main event was over in less than half an hour.

We were ready for the next activity: the feast.

The only people I knew in the hall were my friend and her family members so I did not stay long once I had done with the buffet dinner. The food was good and I was prepared to eat more for the reception the next day and to meet more people [READ HERE].

THE TRANSIT IN PENANG SENTRAL FOR THE KEDAH/PERLIS TRIP

in the ferry

19th DECEMBER 2024    ~ I was back in Penang one more time, and there was another wedding reception to attend. This time, however, I intended to explore other places up north so I decided to stay in Alor Setar. To get there, I took a ferry from Pengkalan Weld on the island to Penang Sentral in Butterworth and boarded a bus later to Alor Setar.

I had been to Penang Sentral three of four times before but had the chance to explore the place this time.

There were a number of restaurants here and kiosks selling all kinds of items. It was a working day so there were not many people around.

I still had a lot of time to kill so I embarked on a gastronomic adventure in Penang Sentral. I managed to find a food court on the third floor of the building.

Unfortunately, many of the food stalls there were not operating that morning so there was not much choice.

My lunch consisted of rice, chicken curry and vegetable. Too bad the chicken was undercooked. Thank God I could enjoy the view of the ocean and the Penang Bridge that bright sunny morning.

PM RESIDENCE - THE HOTEL IN HATYAI

We stayed at PM Residence Hotel in Hatyai from the 22nd - 24th November 2024. It was not exactly in the city centre but it was alright as the place was not busy and noisy.

The room was spacious and the price was reasonable, and personally I considered it to be cheap.

The hotel did not only provide bottled mineral water, but there were also snacks and carbonated drinks that were replenished daily.

I could also see Central Mall from my balcony. The car was parked at the hotel and we just used Grab Car to move around Hatyai as all the places were not that far.

There were staff who could converse in Malay Language at the reception so there was no communication barrier.

It was a pleasant stay at PM Residence and I have nothing to complain. I might consider coming back to this place when I visit Hatyai again.

For one thing, the hotels in Hatyai try to provide the best service to the guests as the competition is high. Many Malaysians choose to go to Southern Thailand as the hotel prices are comparatively cheaper than the hotels at home.
