SHANGHAI DAY 4 - YU YUAN MARKET

2nd June ~ This is the market that tourists to Shanghai must visit. They could get souvenirs like fridge magnets, key-chains and t-shirts, or more expensive and established local items like sports wear from "360" or Chinese silk from "Shanghai Story".

People might not get to the entrance of a prominent tourist spot, the Yu Yuan Garden, but they would never miss this place. Streams of people, locals and foreigners alike, flocked this place when I was there. In fact there were much more people in the market than in the garden.

You could get everything Chinese here to bring home at reasonable prices, but you must practice your bargaining skills. The motto: he who dares, wins.
