ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION IN SUNGAI MATI, MUAR

   6TH SEPTEMBER 2025   ~  I drove all the way to Sungai Mati, Muar, this morning to attend the wedding reception of the son of a senior in college. I met Mr. Kamarudin Kandar when I stayed in Fourth Residential College in Universiti Pertanian Malaysia [UPM] back in 1987. We had never met once we left campus and I was truly touched when invited to the event.

I was among the few early birds to arrive, and the hosts were still busy preparing the food when I sat under the canopy tents.

It was a kampung [village] vibe wedding where I could see the relatives were all working together to help prepare and serve the food.

By the time I finished eating. more people started to arrive. It was time to say "goodbye" to Mr. Kamarudin, hoping to be able to see him again some other time, so we could sit down and chat longer.
