LIGHTNING DID STRIKE TWICE, OR MORE

It was one more unlucky day. My car tyre was punctured again, right after my class in UTM. This time it was more tragic, as my handphone ran out of battery so I could not contact anyone in the darkness of the night. The best option I had was to drive to the nearest petrol kiosk and seek help. I tried the staff at the Petronas counter whether she could recharge my handphone battery for me, and guess what? She did. Thanks to her and she was a good Samaritan indeed. Then only I could ask for assistance from the regular guy, Mr. Suhaizie.

Mr. Suhaizie arrived in no time and soon he displayed his skills in changing the tyre. I could not thank him enough. This was the second time he came to my rescue, for the same reason.

As we were about to quench our thirst in the neighbouring McDonald's restaurant, we saw familiar faces walking into the outlet. The more the merrier so the session was extended a bit longer. Nevertheless, I had to take leave earlier as I had work to do, leaving them all by themselves.

So thanks again to the girl behind the counter at Skudai Petronas kiosk for recharging my phone and to Mr. Suhaizie for his great help.

15th DECEMBER - EXPLORING MORE OF SYDNEY ON MY OWN

This one should be posted earlier but as school was about to start a few days back, so I got to busy to do so.

On the second day, I continued my walking tour around Sydney, but this time on my own. I was actually supposed to get to the Maritime Museum but I took the wrong turn and ended up in Hyde Park. I was here the day before but did not have the chance to see more and take pictures.

[I should have counted]

As you can see, from my past visits to other cities like London and Melbourne, there are always park in the centre of the cities. These places are always crowded with people, tourists and foreigners alike. It was a working day when I visited Hyde Park, mind you, so where did all these people come from? The least that you can do is just sit down on the bench and enjoy the green surrounding. And I don't mind doing that, even for a long time.

REMNANT OF THE PAST

I went to Sekolah Temenggong Abdul Rahman (2) for my primary education. Life was more simple back then, and going to school was something that I looked forward to. Now, the old school buildings have long been demolished and been replaced with new ones so I guess what remains is just sweet childhood memory.

Standard 4 (maybe)

Standard 5

Standard 6

It happened a long time ago, sometimes I cannot remember things related to this period. There are many friends and teachers that I cannot remember their names anymore. Anyway, thanks a lot to Mr. Lim Meng Lee who was recently united on Facebook for posting these photos. One of the biggest regrets in my life was to lose a few photo albums which were left on an express bus on my home from KL and I never thought that I would be able to see these photos again.

So one of the exciting things that you can do now is to find me in these pictures. Can you detect me among all the boys? Find me if you can.

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR 2011

teachers observing the students

It was the first day of school for this year. The form two students were excited to know their new classes. The form one and remove students were more excited as this would be their first day of a new phase in their lives. Having more than 1200 students is not something easy so we had to make sure that students could be placed into their classrooms in an orderly manner. Thank God for the good weather and the cooperation from all the teachers, everything went smoothly. There were even very few late registration cases and students transferring from other schools this year, the least so far of all my many years here. This is just the beginning and let's hope for many more happy days in school.

VISITING HANIF AT HOME

My two ex-students, Suhaizie and Zahari, and I went to visit Hanif at home. Hanif was the Kadet Bomba platoon Commander for two years and now he is waiting for his SPM examination result. He broke his right foot while playing futsal. Pity him as he was about to attend the PLKN programme today. But who are we to determine our own fate? Just wish that Hanif will get well soon and can be mobile because I understand how bored it will be to just be staying at home all the time.

THE ARRIVAL OF A NEW BATCH OF STUDENTS

A new batch of students arrived in school today. One reason why I like to be in the afternoon session is because I can always see them when they are still young until they grow much older until they go to form 5.

As the one being put in-charge of the annual event, I was grateful that everything went on smoothly. The most important thing, there was no complaint or unnecessary request from parents.

So thanks to all my colleagues who have been directly and indirectly involved in my making the event a success.

WELCOMING THE NEW YEAR 2011

We welcomed another new year. Just like last year, I spent my new year in school, with my colleagues. There was work to be done for the registration day of the new students of form one and remove the next morning. I always count myself lucky to have colleagues and friends who are always willing to lend helping hands when the needs arise.

The best way to get a break after all the hard work was to hang out (for a short while) at of the nearby restaurants for a late supper, and at the same time celebrating the arrival of the year 2011.

I always this blog to express my gratitude so thank you Mr. Masrizal, Mr. Nasir, Mr. Zahidi, Mr. Reynullah, Mr. Hasmidi and Mr. Hamzah for your time and energy. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
